I recently finished reading Corrie's "Tramp for the Lord," and I'm now reading, "In My Father's House." In both of these book covers, Corrie is wearing the very same dress she is wearing in this video. It strikes me that Corrie was probably not burdened with a lot of clothing and stuff, and she was free to travel and minister without schlepping a lot of possessions. What a beautiful Christian lady, inside and out!

"Schlepping a lot of possessions" lol. I love it. During the tribulation, we will need to have that mentality to survive and be useful in the gathering of souls for the final harvest.

I looked at my copy (from 1974) and she’s wearing a gray skirt and pink blouse and carrying two suitcases! You must have a more recent copy! (PS: not belittling your comment at all-I just happen to be reading Tramp For The Lord right now so I was prompted to see :) I’m very sure that Corrie did not prioritize a large wardrobe or any material possessions. Just that the publishers use the photo they choose for the cover.

I am from Holland and until this day everybody knows Corrie ten Boom. Her house is now a museum, where you can visit the hidingplace. She still is and example for us christians for the way we should act out the commandment: love your neighbour. Yes, Kuhlman was a strange lady, but do not judge her for that. Luther was strange, Calvin was, Zwingli was, and also don' t forget: Jesus was. Therefore many rejected Him, but He was the Messiah.

Oh God, how glorious you are, to work in and through your people, such as this woman Corrie Ten Boom. I pray Father, that you will send many to watch this video and others like it, that they may see your glory through witnessing your daughter Corrie and give you thanks for who you are and draw closer to you. I pray you would save those who watch this sweet message of your love and the salvation that is in Christ Jesus. Amen.

Shelly, I understand your feeling if you had no previous exposure to Kuhlman. However, remember we need to go by fruit and what fruit she has left behind is tremendous, and continuous to give life. I think part of it during her later years is that she had a serious heart condition and was physically exhausted to a point that it could make her appear as if drunk at times. Her heart was the size of two fists at the time of her death due to total dedication to souls.

@@ianfrancis777 I believe, just as machinery needs regular maintenance and rest to operate in tip top form, so too should people have regular periods of "maintenance" and rest. Many saints of God, in church ministries, missionaries around the world, and folks who work in secular jobs, pass away well before their time due to working themselves to exhaustion, wearing out physically, mentally, and spiritually. It is not a sin to take a vacation, say no to too many demands on you and your time. Jesus often took off and spend days and weeks in rest and refreshing. He was Divine, but also human as well. Fires burn out, firecrackers burn out, but it is not healthy for people to burn out.
@ianfrancis777

@@robindear5043 All excellent points that I've mulled over myself, and I agree that even the most respected spiritual leaders can fall into this presumption sin (which is unintentional sin) wherein they believe they can keep going because the Holy Spirit is going to keep pouring into them even though they're living on very little sleep, and overworking their bodies to the point of abuse. They feel as if the time is short, but no one person is indispensable as the Holy Spirit distributes his gifts severally as He wills to carry on the work of Jesus on the earth. Take 60-65 year old servants for example who are overworking with little sleep and traveling with suicidal itineraries, thinking (presumptuously) that they have to do it and that the Holy Spirit will pour life into them supernaturally. He could do that but in 99.5% of the cases I believe he expects them to not break the laws of nature and live a balanced life. That way they could go on another 20 years and reach allot more souls than they otherwise would have.

It is a privilege to hear her testimony. I consider Corrie ten Boom to be one of my favorite heroes. She is truly a brave and and strong lady. I can't even imagine the suffering she endured. The pain and humiliation they inflicted on her in those prison camps, and having to lose her father and her sister and even her own name while she was shackled in that dark, ugly prison. And then, she had the courage to fulfill her sister's visions. She forgave those who persecuted her and taught them to love. She made the house that Betsy described and the bright green prison camps with flower boxes. Hers is a very worthy story, indeed.

We are all different and different people reach us...as different people :-) in different styles. I remember Kuhlman on TV as a child and she enthralled me but for my MOM...she was a hero and brought my mom comfort, hope, and salvation.....God uses you and me...and we are also odd ducks in our own way. I do not love how she talks as an adult...but that is of no consequence. Many do not like what any of us does or how we talk and do things...as you friends your wife, your child...:0. It is up to God and up to the results of one's life...to speak. If we all just did our part we would not have time to criticize those that are doing something...no matter what we think of it. Get busy about the calling the Lord has for you and you will be so busy doing it that what others are doing is something we will not have time for...insecurity often leads all of us to be critical. LET GOD BE THE JUDGE...for all of us.

Poor Carrie had to put up with an American televangelist's dramatized theatrical speech. It's embarrassing to watch. Carrie once said that the US is filled with churches but little faith. She was right and still is right. Her book helps me today as it did in 1975 when I first read it.

My father took me when I was a little boy and she was the real deal, just a little dramatic. I personally saw people healed of all kinds of things. The main thing is she would ultimately point people to Jesus
@CynthiaToni

Frank Meyst She wouldn't be pointing people to Jesus if she was being guided by a different spirit. There are two spirits and Christians should remember that the devil can also perform signs and wonders. She is creepy for sure.

A woman who is interviewing doesn't help to pay attention... I do not know but it is a bit weirdo for me to look at her, the way how she speaks, expresses herself make me feel to stop watching it. There is nothing offensive just my observations.

Am I the only one that doesn't feel comfortable watching a video that declares at the beginning that it is not for public reproduction? I'm not trying to sound like a legalist, but is it really okay to just partake of this on youtube?

Jaime Buckingham addressed this in his bio "Daughter of Destiny." People who knew Kathryn Kuhlman in her early years (her sister, for example) said that she *always* talked like that, even as a girl. And nobody is sure why. For some, her delivery helped them to connect to her and hear her message clearer. Others had to look past that strange delivery to hear what she said about Jesus. Still others used her speech pattern as an example of why they think she was off-base and dangerous. Who knows and who cares. God did great things in her ministry. As for why her and not others, her answer about why not everyone gets healed works here too: "I do not know. Only God knows. And who can know the mind of God?"
