Corrosion Fatigue Cracking is the leading cause of boiler tube failures caused by tubes expanding and contracting near buckstays or other locations where the tube is not allowed to expand naturally. Being able to detect these cracks in advance can prevent forced outages and lost revenue. TesTex's Solution Providers Group working in conjunction with several utility companies like Clifty Creek Generating Station (owned by AEP, Duke Energy, LG&E, and First Energy) has come up with a new set of testing tools designed to detect and size these types of flaws.
