Even if we overestimate, and assume half of the population are underage, that's still just 20% of the electorate that put this bandit into office. Her only competitor got just 25% of her vote. People really need to pay more attention to elections, and not allow activists and crooks to exploit this apathy.

I'll tell you how engaging this story is. I'm a guy from Ireland, living in Western Australia who has followed every chapter of this story about a mayor from a small town in Ohio. I've even put my wife onto it. That it's ending is devastating. We can only hope that the justice system fails spectacularly and we get a new season of The Boondocks: Dalton.

I'm not an American, so I am only going to take a guess: Slaves did not always speak the same language as each other, so they developed a creole to standardise communication with each other and their masters. After emancipation, they were still strongly shunned in a lot of parts of America. They speak English with their own divergences because they have not been given the easiest of times trying to integrate into the parent culture. Language is reflective of the people. This is probably just a part of their own national identity as "African American" rather than just "American." Again, this was just my best guess

The leading theory is ebonics is a result of mixing Southern US slang with various African trade languages with creole from Lousiana. It is the love child of three ways of low education communication shared between various groups lacking a common language made from rounding syllables and using smaller words. It went from a necessity to a "matter of pride" for people descended from indentured servants. So, you get a section of society that uses this low education dialect as proof of "us versus them". I've seen cases of people in certain communities being shunned for not speaking ebonics.

I am going to guess also. Most of them lived in poor neighborhoods, where only the most thuggish people had any power. Typically they have no education and some speech impediment. The rest of the population copied their speech in order to associate with the thuggish power. It is some form of self-preservation mechanism. Most of them have lost the ability to speak normal english now.
