The edging move is right, but the up-unweighing is slower than down-unweighing. If this was a dryland drill for skiing, he should try to come out of the flexed position by unweiging his external foot, transfering weight to the everted inside foot to avoid a stemmed release that will slow down the transition and alignment of body angles for the early phase of C.
