I feel like wasted potential on Commando, seeing as it is a jack of all trades tower it would fit very well into Hardcore, about the same level as engi. Slap lead, flying and hidden detection on it and you get a tower that isn’t exceptional at anything but can work anywhere.

This is one of the case where I would disagree with you. I said he's high-peak B tier at best. The problem with reworked Commando (when compared to the current tower meta) is that in the process of making him a "jack of all trades" they haunted his kit with multiple glaring problems. Some that I would like to mention includes: 1. His horrible single target DPS of 91.13 (108.63 with missiles) for a tower in the 30k range. That's a 3.11, which is comparable to that of Ranger, a tower with 3 times his range. - I get that he's supposed to be a multitarget/crowd control tower, but a maximum DPS of 869.04 for 8 Commandos is pretty bad, considering that is 20% of your tower slot in Solos 2. You need to be consistently hitting 3 pierce for him to perform above average. If we say Commando hits on average 2 enemies with his guns, he would only have a cost efficiency of 5.72, which is still worse than that of normal minigunner at 5.78. - Him performing at his best of 4 pierce has his cost efficiency at 10.78 which, while good, is only that of Mortars when hitting 3 enemies. And as we all know, Mortars hits like 10 enemies on Mid to Late waves of Fallen mode. 3. His burst + reload mechanic essentially destroys his synergy with Commander + makes him inconsistent on his own. 4. His missiles, while very good at stalling/crowd control, is extremely micro-intensive, especially when you have around 4+ Commandos placed down. While my opinion has improved for him after several hours of testing, I still thinks he warrants a few buffs to make him more consistent to use in the grand scale of things. I would suggest: 1. slightly improving his gun damage output to reach 120+ DPS 2. making the missiles keep the CD of 20s at max level but deals more dmg and stuns more. Overall, still very solid video.

For those who don't know, the trooper skin for commando is actually based off of the commando clone from Star Wars. In fact, the default commandos' helmet has the exact same shape and color as a default commando, meaning they probably took inspiration from Star Wars. That is likely the reason why the skin looks like a recolor (which it basically is), instead of an original skin. The last level I will say though, is not canon to anything from Star Wars, at least from what I have seen. The closest clone commando that I have seen that resembles the final level of the trooper skin is pretty much the whole omega squad. I think that they probably could have done better on this skin, if they had made the armor more similar to that of the commando from Star Wars, but that is just a nitpick. I also think it would have been a lot cooler if they did something where they went through different phases of the clone trooper, maybe going from the training armor from the citadel (which would be base level), phase 1 clone trooper armor (level 2), phase 2 clone trooper armor (level 3), basic clone commando (level 4), and then the max level (i dont know if it has enough levels for this) but I think any of the named clone commandos could work well for a max level, since I think it would be cool to see that in tds.

It being high A is insane, if imma be real if this thing didn't have the missiles it’d be completely terrible. It’s ability dependent and expensive. Side note the pierce gets weaker the more it pierces also i don’t wanna sound mean or anything but how is this thing versatile? You said it was somewhat map dependent and it also it gets no detections, there are much better dps options and its range is also terrible. I genuinely see myself never using this thing again unless it gets buffed. Yeah yeah i know its better than it was but useless to “better than nothing” isn’t saying a lot… imo its like C tier maybe high C tier or even low B tier. I'd call it a C tier. A rando and I managed to beat the current event mission with both of us using this tower, the missile was actually very good at helping us crowd control while engineers cleaned up and targeted the heavy stuff with some crooks throwing their npcs into the grinder. I do like how if you can get the ball rolling and get at least 2-4 commandos you do gain a lot of control over the map with being able to consistently spam and target specific crowds. It's fun but this is really just a mortar mixed with a militant yet it does both roles worse. None of the hidden or fly detect militant has (but has his old reload nerf) and nowhere near as much range or damage as the mortar, but I guess you can choose where the missile goes. The rework is very stinky. They need to at least let it change it's position like the Brawler or bare minimum give him hidden and fly detect.

I love your in depth reviews of things Corso, but honestly Commando is not high A tier, i'm sorry to say. as someone whose had it since Area 51, is it better than old commando? yes. is it still viable 99% of the time? no. and before I get any commentors going "TDS players when a tower isn't OP: 🤓" thats not at all what i'm suggesting or saying it should be, currently it is bad, at best, and the majority of players will not use it correctly and it WILL end up labelled as one of the worst event towers. I think a solution to this could be giving it a single detection (my preference would be HD or flying personally, you can then let it rely on the rockets for the other stuff.) and possibly reducing its cost globally by a small percentage, this will help its usability quite a bit despite being a small buff. now if I wanted to ACTUALLY lean towards it being 'op' as so many want to believe most people want, then i'd say "Give it all 3 detections by default and +15 damage by max level." which I do not want, if it were to receive a damage buff i'd want it to go from like 16 at max to 20 at max probably. and I do not think commando should have more than 2 detections at once, thats the most OP it should be. so either hidden + flying or hidden + lead (or even lead + flying however it'd be more helpful to have hidden)

Man, i wanted the devs to make him cost gems, i kinda regret buying VIP, giving these greedy devs more money, things that i would have done instead for slasher and commando Slasher: gains the ability to switch between a chainsaw and knife, the knife can be thrown, can pierce (both ranged and melee) and applies bleed (bleed does 5% of the enemies current hp per tick, capped at 3x the slasher dmg) whoever the chainsaw has absurd dps Commando: i would make him a well rounded tower for all game modes, with lead prenetation and flying detection while his attacks can BOUNCE from enemy to enemy, hidden detection cuz why not?

Id say commando is more useful than mortar Think about it mortar is really unreliable against a lot if enemies since the dmg is based on how close missle hits and its based on enemies speed while commando u can aim and stun enemies with it Its really good + if crowds are a problem its usually in a few specific rounds where missles can nuke them all Also commandos single target is insane considering it has 4 pierce Lack of hidden doesnt matter since missles target anything I feel like its absolutely goated rn and its worth buying

On the surface (i say that cause i dont have commando) Commando is a Dps tower Crowd control tower (Due to the stalling) Support tower And can deal with every threat But it also Sucks as a DPS tower Expensive and skill based crowd control Inconsistent support And cannot see hidden, flying, or damage lead So it's basically everything but kinda bad at it

Honestly if I had money I would get commando, not because he's a event tower or how good he is, but because of the fact he is based on a character from my favorite game RISK OF RAIN 2 (Atleast I think, cause ISTG there are too many similarities for it not to be based of Commando Risk of Rain) Well actually the final upgrade looks surprisingly different.

Some people don't realize that Commando not having any detections was always its thing. It's a joke about how anything with futuristic armor should have hidden detection. Which in this case is not the truth.
