TDS really wanted to make sure we never forget 2024. This has been one awesome year. First, a new gamemode, then a lot of reworks with new towers plus rebalanceds a lot of towers, and fallen and molten modes rework, and the hexscape event which made the night with cut sense and a cool secret challenge, then the iceling on the cake Forst Spirit returns with sledger getting a rework and returning to his fromly glory, this year has definitely been one of the best🎉 edit: Yeah 2020 will all ways be remembered, but in a positive way for how long we had to hear the halloween lobby music😅 edit again: forgot to add the hunt, the classic, the haunt, and now the winter spotlight

I am so Glad because this was the ONE event tower that I actually got when it was free. I also was playing fallen a few days ago, and 2 fallen guardians made it to the end of the path with 30k EACH, but my sledgers kept both of them stalled for OVER 30 SECONDS. We lived and beat the game.

Something that I think I noticed is that the after shock does not have a pierce cap. I could be wrong and if someone one wants to test it, go for it, but that increases it's damage and more importantly it's stalling capabilities even more

Do also note that sledger does hit flying or hidden enemies when there's a visible enemy in it's cone. Although, this is heavily unreliable since said flying or hidden enemies have to be in in a horde of enemies for sledger to even hit them. Regardless, we are so back.

Hot take: it's balanced. Its a short range melee tower that doesn't have stun immunity. It's also not a boss killer because of it's small range. While being VERY VERY op that's only against crowds. It's not like 6 sledge's can solo the entire game including bosses which other towers can do. (i.e. Accel, engineer, gold mini, etc). Also no hidden, and freeze immune enemies make sledger almost useless. It's just EXTREMELY good against crowds and if paired up with other splash towers like max level ranger or mortar, crowds of breakers become nothing instantly. To summarize, sledger is really good at what he does. But he can't do everything.

TDS should make a American football mortar. The mortar has like one person holding the foot ball then another person kicking and it Flys in the air then explodes. As it's upgraded it gets more padding and the football get bigger and on the towers final level it gets a field goal it kicks in while kicking the ball. @@Cat0987-real electroshocker and pyro are more consistent options. plus the most threatening types of enemies that could have been good for mortar are fast low hp enemies like circuits, and fallens but mortar at best can hit 2, not deal full damage, shoots slow, and the dps isnt even that good if you dont consider the cluster bombs that rarely even land on the path. electro has a consistent chaining so at best it will almost always hit its max while also being a great flying detection and lead pen tower, is good at early waves, and a good staller, pyro with the damage overtime and how it deals piercing damage is also more consistent and better for fast low hp enemies being able to kill most of them since damage overtime can deal 100+ total damage. mortar isn't even good at boss, mortar cant do early defense, it could barely do anything to flying enemies, its 100+ dps was a lie, and at best the most threatening enemy it is good against are breakers and i don't think wasting a tower slot for only 1 enemy type is a great idea. also military base

This and the commando, in my opinion, are examples of event towers done perfectly. They’re good, but not busted. They’re not useless, but they’re not needed. Sledger can be swapped out for electro, and they would give a similar stunning, with sledger being a bit better. They’re really fun to use, sledger prob won’t be needed for strats other than one that requires insane stalling. Jester is an example of an event tower being a bit too unbalanced, hallow punk and snowballed are event towers that are too bad, harvester and snowballer are both hyper-decent, but commando and sledger hit the perfect spot.

Useful info: if you pair sledger up with cryomancer they will basically always be dealing double damage! ALSO, if the devs ever add an ice tower that can chill or freeze bosses sledger will be dealing double damage to bosses aswell so keep that in mind

Frankly i dont believe sledger is going to be nerfed, it has potentially amazing damage output but it has a lot of caveats. It fufills its niche as a mid-late game destroyer if you invest your cash into it but due to how much it costs your real dps for frost immune enemies and bosses which are common in the late game will struggle quite a bit
