I think having the list of tools and materials that you use for a project show up on Weaver’s site is brilliant. I didn’t know who Weaver was until I “found” you guys. I have sent spent almost 200 USD on my new hobby and most has been thru Weaver. Got my first pair of “shoulders” today. What a joy. Thanks for the videos.

What's the rule of thumb for the cut leather size when you know the width, depth and thickness of the laptop? Does the leather gauge come into it?
@adamrobertson20484 жыл бұрын
I know this is an old video but I was wondering about how much extra clearance you made from the measurement of the laptop? I have about 5 oz crazy horse leather I am wanting to use to make this for my laptop

How did you convert the vertical thickness of the computer into the size of the case? Did you add "seam allowance' or extra material to allow for the thickness? How much to add?
@Corter5 жыл бұрын
yep! just measured the thickness, cut that number in half and add it to the outside seam. It's a rough estimate, we always add a bit extra so the laptop isn't too tight in the case

May I ask how much of a stitching margin you used around the laptop. How do you generally figure that out? Is there a way to calculate how much extra margin to add around the size of any object to ensure the perfect snug fit and would it work on items like Apple wireless headphone cases or other items you want a snug fit for?
@deniskrastic6 жыл бұрын

I'm curious if you have given thought to the pressure that snap is going to place on the screen behind the apple logo. I've had the screen on my 13" replaced because the screws that hold the logo on the inside of the lid put pressure on the screen and burned a kind of circle with 4 dots. Just general wear and tear in my bag caused that. I wonder how it will fair with that snap always there.

Do you seal your vegtan leather with anything or does it just stay plain old vegtan with nothing on it? I would think that without some kind of sealer it would stain, even with just water, very easily! What would you suggest to use if you did use one? (Sorry for the edit. I didnt know you could strikeout text!)
