From the scene in the trailer of Valya heading straight at Desmond, I'm gonna assume the sisters figured out how to defend against Desmond's power and she's gonna eliminate him. Part of the discovery of Desmond's power is that scene of the sister burning but with probes on her head. I think the sisters experimented on her to discover how the power works. I believe the Reckoning will be the elimination of the Harkonnen sisters by Dorotea, through Lila, she will put the sisters on a different path which will ultimately become the Bene Gesseret.

Where did you obtain the info on episode 6's running time? AFAIK, unlike the first five that were sent to critics etc, screeners of the finale were not provided so they' like the rest of us, have to wait until Sunday.

Some reviewers posted their review on X yesterday. A few claimed it as being 80 minutes long. At the start of the season, an article came out revealing all the runtimes, and episode 6 was around that.

spoiler alert ! desmond hit the sandworm with a 360 spinkick, knocking it out. then the worms body dropped on the sand and compressed, causing a super potent spice burp, enlightening him.

I don't think the worm gave desmond the powers. I think he was in so much fear and adrenaline rush his powers may have surfaced from the stress of being swallowed. 🎉 that's how others powers were discovered. From bad situations

Desmond wouldn't have been an issue if Tula and Orry had been responsible adults and used contraception. I don't ever remember reading the Butlerian Jihad had outlawed contraceptive technology. They even had an abortifacient tea in Game of Thrones. This TV version of the plot line is a bit silly.

Book fan here, and I love prequels by Brian H. I really dislike this show, but I admit it's not terribly bad. Glad others are enjoying it. However, I just can't take this 'GoT in Space' seriously. The source material HBO chose is too difficult for them to adapt, and to solve this they 'invented' new plot lines when they can't even handle the existing ones. They should have simplified the material (like Villeneuve did) instead of overcomplicating. And I have no idea who are these ppl calling themselves 'Bene Gesserit' in this show, more like some Nightsisters from Star Wars.

1. If you’ve actually read the books, you know the 6 Frank wrote came decades before GRRM “borrowed” 70% of Dune and Dune Messiah for ASOIAF(GOT), and most of Brian Herbert & Kevin J. Anderson’s expanded Dune universe books & short stories were published before GRRM’s Fire & Blood which HOTD is based on. 2. And I don’t think you’ve even seen the show, because the words, “Bene Gesserit” haven’t been spoken.

Valya Harkonnen is the Mother Superior of what order if you don't mind me asking? NoName Wallach IX Sisterhood? You know, funny but it actually fits the show. And yes, I watched it because I absolutely adore Emily Watson.

Why are book fans always soooo critical of tv shows that come out of the books? The show doesnt have to match the book 100% and you dont have to get so upset when it turns out slightly different. If u were not so busy comparing the show to the book..... u might actually enjoy it more.

big Dune fan, and i love all the creator content, but the show is a bit slow for 6 episodes. Not dumping on it…i get where they are trying to go, but the source material is hard to pull off.

The show is sooo bad. Brian Herbert really ruined his father’s legacy..the actors also leave A LOT to be desired. Nightclubs and unnecessary sex scenes have no place in dune. It’s so unfaithful to the source material that it hurts to even watch it! It has none of the feel of the original works or even the recent movies..a stunningly bad adaptation.
