@Mikie E If you think that RV has better vocal, you should watch MR-videos of RV's "live"-performances. Gfriend, Mamamoo, Oh My Girl have better vocal in their live-performances. Itzy is a dance group in my opinion, Itzy consists of 4 good/great dancers. Wen*y and Seulg* have better vocal techniques, but Itzy's vocal is better than BP's for sure. Yeji alone can outsing live BP's main vocal while dancing. I am sure Yeji and Chae are better vocalists than a whole BP. RV's and BP's songs are something weird, meaningless or about love and partying. Itzy's songs have meaningful lyrics. A lot of BP's fans like that group because they think that BP is the only group with a badass concept. You should try G-Idle with self-produced songs. 4minute has disbanded, their songs are pretty badass. You can try some of CLC's songs, some of MissA's songs (disbanded group). If you prefer vocal groups, then Gfriend, Mamamoo and Oh My Girl and a lot of other ggs should be your choice. You know only ex-"big 3" companies' newer ggs.

It has nothing to do with pitting groups against each other. It's about putting together a group that targets a specific demographic. Twice has been criticized a lot for being cutesy and not appealing to 20-somethings. Blackpink really kills in that age group, hence it makes sense that JYP would want to put together a group that focuses on that style.
