At 3:08, that's the 1966 Electrovair. I am an Engineer at GM and our intranet site called Socrates just ran a story on that car with the headline, "Electrovair: An Early Look at our Electrification Journey". It was just one example in our history of electric vehicles. Fast forward 56 years; technology has evolved to the point where we can begin making EVs mainstream.

Oh, I so love the looks of that first gal sitting on the back of her Corvair in the shorts and bare foot. Looks as if she possibly would have taken the car out for a spin after the photo was shot. Too bad that she's no longer in her early-mid 20's however! Great series so far of some really classic photos. Thumbs up all the way!

Ah yes. I remember the days when you couldn't turn around without bumping into a Corvair... Well, not really, because I didn't get bitten by the Corvair bug until I was 18 in late 1980. By that time the newest Corvairs were already 11 years old and were rarely seen on used car lots. I bought a '65 Monza coupe that November from a private seller (the original owner) and the die was cast. Even at that date I'd still see the occasional "Token Corvair" nearly every day. Why couldn't I have been born a decade earlier so I could have seen all those lovelies (and all the WAGONS!) for myself at a time when I would have been old enough to appreciate them?

i had vws i drove them like my 56 chevy well they fell apart got my 65 in 1977 still have it plus 5 more ///they love me lol

Sometimes my husband and I take our Lakewood wagon to the store and load bag's of groceries in front trunk to the horrer of onlookers that think we are laying them on the " motor ".
