The C6.R is hands down the greatest Corvette race car, but I think the C8.R will rival it or surpass it once it passes the mantle to the C9.R.

It's a bit funny that that race engine is less powerful than the production engine when it lands in the Z06 and it wont even be boosted.

The force inducted flat plane crank works for Ford . They're almost on point with Porsche. BMW is more powerful but ls prone to mechanical issues. The C8R engine has not hit it's stride it seems like It ain't ready. Chevy please do the right thing. I know you made progress in handling with the mid engine layout.

Sanglier XXXIV well this is the sound of a custom race exhaust made to meet certain regulations, I’m sure we’ll get something better sounding on the z06 and for it to be a flatplane, it has a great deep gargle sound

It still has a V8 lol, the C8.R is equipped with a 5.5l DOHC flat plane crank V8 as apposed to its cross plane crank pushrod predecessors

@@pitied3744 oh it sounded way better, but when the engine finds its way to the Z06, when people can put crazy aftermarket exhausts i think it will sound fantastic, it honestly reminds me of a Ferrari 430 Scuderia from the sound clips ive heard of them testing the car.

@@pitied3744 That's why Chevy is gonna release the Grand Sport: same specs as the Z06 except the engine is the crossplane V8 counterpart that was already in the base model, just with more juice

Their competitors exist inside of such a very broad spectrum of technological strategies, front engined mid engined great weight differentials and aerodynamic approaches etc. unlike more conformist cookie cutter racing leagues.

The c8R doesn't seem any faster than the previous car. I say drop a modified version of the C7R. engine ( to meet the new cars hp) and I bet the C7R powered car will be faster.
