As a recent C7 purchaser, it was nice to hear something informative about this segment of the market. It's also nice to hear about something other than C8's and the upcoming ZO6. I understand the interest in C8's and the ZO6 but it is becoming information overload to many of us Corvette fans who either aren't interested in C8's in general or those unwilling to play the C8 purchasing " game " at this time. There are many older generation Corvette owners out there and we all have our love of Corvettes to unite us, no matter what year or generation it is.

You feel the road like it should be. Makes driving so much more exciting and fun! I put dual adjustable coil shocks on all 4 corners, Z06 sway bars, with Nitto tires, it drives like a go cart! Love it!

You know what stands out the most when watching Robert @ Corvette World... This guy is 100% underpaid, he breathes and sleeps corvettes, knows all there is to know bout vettes amd seems like a great dude. The owner either needs to give this guy a raise or gift him a Corvette in that showroom as a bonus. Robert should be pulling into work in his own vette everyday for work, also makes Corvette World look better when your best employee is in a vette too. I'm sure the owner has done very well the last couple years, time to take care of Robert!!!

Because of these awesome videos you guys make, I drove an extra 300 miles out of my way on my way home to Indiana from Arizona to come see Corvette World. I met with Robert yesterday (3/10) & he spent a bunch of time with me showing me cars, answering my questions & talking all things Corvette (and Army too!), and Robert was busy with plenty of other things and people. He took good care of me and is spot on with his pricing vs the rest of the market. I hope when it's time to purchase my C7 that it's from Robert & Corvette World. Mike, thx 4 the great videos. Robert thanks for your time yesterday and thank you for your service in the Army in Afghanistan. Keep up the great work guys!

@@Est3banR So far it's been great, no regrets picking it up what so ever. Unfortunately cause of life I haven't had the time to take it to the track or do any serious driving in it, but around town its fantastic. Couple of complaints tho, the transparent roof panel makes it so the interior gets baked during hot sunny days, need to get a full sun cover for it or replace the roof panel, one of the clips on the carbon dash insert broke and it's popping up in one corner, and of course the 3lt dash bubbling but aside from that, great car. For the money can't beat it, was wanting to get a new Nissan Z before they revealed pricing and when they showed it was gonna be over 50k that's when I started looking at used Vettes.

@@Est3banR Damn 9k miles only holy crap, definitely gonna be getting it from someone who kept it as a garage queen, but at the same time, they might be trying to ask for more than it's worth, especially now since rates are way up and prices are *kinda* dropping. Is it a Z51 car and does it have mag ride? If not I wouldn't touch it at 56k, if it is a Z51 car then I think it's pretty solid, obviously try to negotiate a little.

I have a 2015 C7 Z06 manual and I cannot imagine getting a C8 due to the ability to take off a jacket and throw it behind the seat. The access to storage behind the seats in the C7 is truly the one trait that makes me not want the C8. I can throw a small cooler or luggage or whatever and access it while I am driving on a road trip. Big advantage to the C7.

Amazing how high these prices are. I bought a 2019 2lt grand sport new with an MSRP of $75,300 for $62,500 in February of 2020 just before the covid crisis hit. I kept it until July of 2021 and traded it in because of the cracked wheel issue and just could not continue to use it due to lack of trust. I picked up an Audi RS5 and love the car. I received $68, 500 for the corvette and saved the tax and paid the difference on the $84,000 Audi. One day I will probably go back to it but not in the foreseeable future. The anger towards GM for their lack of support regarding the inferior wheels still lingers. I was advised that potholes caused the wheel issue but funny it was always the back wheels and never the front. So I guess they were saying I drive backwards.

Good move to the Audi. I bought a 997.2 series 911 S Cabriolet 6sp manual in 2019 that’s now trading for 15k over what I paid for it. With few exceptions, Vettes still have bottomless depreciation curves and are not dependable.

Of course a dealership is going to say that prices aren't going to go down haha the Corvette has always been relatively mass produced. I remember when new c7s were available at massive discounts not too long ago. Once the c8s are readily available at MSRP, c7 prices WILL drop. It will happen. It's literally the nature of the beast.

Pricing is definitely falling for new in-stock inventory C8 SRs. Just a month ago, very few dealers had any new C8s in inventory, and the few dealers who had them were all selling them for $20K to $30K over MSRP. Now I’m seeing a lot more dealers with new C8’s on their lots, and many of them have dropped their asking prices to $10k to $15k over MSRP. Within another month or two, I bet the most dealers will be selling new in-stock C8s for MSRP to no more than $10K over. With vehicle interest rates having gone up from 2.9% to now around 5.5%, it’s unavoidable that demand for everything that’s usually financed such as vehicles, homes, boats, and planes. With inflation still way too high in August at 8.3%, the fed will be forced to continue increasing the feds funds rate. The Fed Funds rate has increased from just 0.25% a year ago to 2.5% today. The prime rate is now up to 5.5%. If inflation doesn’t drop below 5% by the end of the year, we could see the Fed Funds rates reach 4% , and Prime at 7%, which would put the acreage vehicle loan at 7%, which would be 2.5 times the rate just a year ago. Prices for Corvette are driven by demand, and demand for any product is driven by the product, the price of the product, the competition, and the price of the competition. I don’t see demand for Corvettes decreasing because of the product itself or because of the competition, but demand will definitely decline as the price of the product increases due to rising interest rates. And as demand decreases, prices will definitely follow. Also, I don’t expect production constraints to get any worse, and they will likely get better over time. The current situation with 2 year old Corvettes with 30K miles selling for higher than the MSRP of brand new Corvettes is totally unsustainable, and I believe it’s coming to an end very soon.

Prices are high currently, it’s a side effect of the pandemic + many other factors. Once the bubble on the used market pops prices should be getting back to normal within the next few years. There are a couple of good things that will happen in the near future. One of those is the release of the c8 z06. Many who currently are holding their 2018-2019 z06s and other trims will most likely upgrade to the current gen. Meaning that there is going to be a wave of new inventory of 2018-2019s at dealers to chose from at a more affordable price. The same could be said about the 2014-2017 c7s. Although it really depends what your preference is. Personally I would love to get my hands on a 2018-2019 c7 Grand Sport in Sebring Orange with moderate low mileage. However, I’m gonna wait it out a year or two once prices drop. Currently many nice examples are actually more expensive than what they even sold for originally At msrp. Considering that the 2018-2019 are already 3 to 4 years old there’s no reason to pay that much. Unless you are treating the car as an investment and going for the likes of the zr1 then you can make a solid argument. Since the last zr1 was only in production for only 1 year it makes sense to keep it as low mileage and prestige as possible. Since their prices have steadily increased and currently in the ranges of 200-250k. Honestly I’ve passed a couple of extremely good deals on 2015-2016 models because I was uneasy about the major problems those two years face. Although not every car is plagued with those problems I decided to play it safe. Anyways what year and trim are you guys looking forward to getting in the near future?

Every one of those C8’s are flip vehicles waiting for some dumb ass to pay way too much for!

Why was my post showing C8 corvettes at drastically low prices deleted? I would think many of your followers would have liked to see how low the prices have gone. There was some great deals in my post.

Bought a 2019 Convertible three weeks ago.. 3LT with 45kiles on it for $55k. Decent deal... More miles than I was really looking for, but I drive maybe 5k miles a year so I'm not too worried about it.

Okay, I'm back. First, I have to address the obvious that hits me smack in the face. The time and effort you put into your editing. This vid, like your other ones, just goes whack on the ⚾out of the park! As to the subject of the Vette just being a Chevrolet. Sure it is, but what that means is that it's not only an affordable sports car, but it's also means it's reliable and repairable. Exotics can't make that claim. A footnote to that is that it can be, and many do use it, as a Daily Driver. As to what Robert was saying about staying with the market and as it changes, so will CW. But just for the record, that doesn't mean their prices are negotiable, what it really means is that they will negotiate with a seller accordingly. So, if the market is dropping next week, a seller shouldn't expect to receive the amount they were offered today for it. Many viewers I still think CW is price gouging. Do you your homework and you'll find out that CW doesn't operate that way. I guess that's enough from the Man of Few Words. You guys Save the Waves🙋♂🙋♂

Lol, thank you Peter, I do enjoy making a great video, and yes, it definitely takes time. Good points. Corvette’s are great daily’s and have been since C5. You are correct about CW too. The negotiations are only from CW to a customer trying to sell them their car. As far as CW ripping people off, they never have and never will. It’s a high volume dealer, which means their profit margins are low. So yes, do your homework, and you will see. 👍😊

I enjoy your videos a great deal but I never hear you discuss the problems of the C7s like the cylinder heads in particular the valve train issues that is well documented .I would go crazy if I bought a 60,000$ car and have to turn right around and take another 5 to 6 thousand dollars to fix the valve problems ,on top of that there are other problems with the C7s you never bring up.
@jamespearson002 жыл бұрын
The heads are a 1200 dollar fix, or upgrade the rods to titanium for 4K max with blue valve springs. Not a huge deal compared to 25k for a 7.0l if you can even find one.

I'll have to come back. I thought I just needed a mug of my Chock full O'nuts. I'm going to have to brew up a whole pot! 😉 Oh yeah, I also have to sharpen up my pencils and get a BIG pad. I'll be taking names and specs.

Nope nope this is the current market. The vet is not a Ferrari at somepoint when supply catches up prices will drop. Basic supply and demand. We are in a bubble market and for him to think this is permanent is just silly.
@Forever.Remain.Nameless2 жыл бұрын
It's going to be like this for awhile, GM just announced tht mag-ride is on constraint for 2023 stingrays
@gtrzero21572 жыл бұрын
@@Forever.Remain.Nameless yeah heard the same news. Porsche also just stopped making 911s because of supply chain issues. It will take time, but eventually things should normalize. Unless gm just decides to make fewer cars permanently. But they want to sell as many as possible unlike Ferrari who keep inventory low on purpose, this is not GMs business plan. Cheers.

I think prices will drop but not drastically. What may hurt the market for the short time is gas prices.
@swiveler19732 жыл бұрын
High gas prices. rising interest rates, 8 percent inflation in one year. This is going to mean an adjustment in prices sooner than later.

It pisses me off because the C7 ZR1 was only made one year since 2013 because that's going to really hurt the value and make idiots try to post it online for more than the car's worth. Keep in mind it's a Chevy not a Ferrari and they're trying to get six figures out of a car that's 4 years old. Being this is 2022. There's no way in hell I would pay what people are wanting for a ZR1. They used to be an affordable car but people have lost their minds

Great update, I am holding my 2014 Z51, 3LT, A6 White / Red with 10,000 miles BUT I want to do some motor upgrades. Is that risky to value in say 5 years with 15,000 miles and 600 HP either NA or Vortech. I wanted to trade up to Z06 but i just can't see spending the money when I love my 2014 I had the Z51 Black wheels powder coated White and really like the look. Just needs a tad more power. Keep it a mild Hot Rod or trade it on Z06 and spend that $20,000 + OUCH!, Thanks, Dennis in Virginia, I traded my 2007 Z06 Ron Fellows So I do miss 427 Torque.
