Gastro is hard walled by fliers and especially skarm and corvinight. It's only as safe as it is right now because fliers are so rare (basically just talonflame and jumpluff). If it was in pre flying nerf meta it would be a very risky pokemon to use. When corv becomes mainstream it will be risky then as well. Gastro corv annihilape gets core broken badly by corv itself. The second the opposing corv is out of the picture, your corv steamrolls that team.

I think the scariest thing about corvinight is how much more they will enable bulky ground types like clodsire and diggersby. Electric is the best counter to skarm and corv but it gets hard walled by these two top tier pokemon. However I think stunfisk will return to his skarmory meta level of relevancy, because he just barely wins against clodsire with the thundershock buff, and everyone knows how he completely walls flying and steel type attacks. Also grass types, which are his hard counter type will tank in usage when corv gets dropped. Worst thing though is diggersby is going to be even more enabled by the further strangulation of grass types. I still stand by the thought that diggersby is a cancer in this meta.

But we dont so with what we have, might not be so easy I usually don't include shrooms when I say how many can beat it since it's kinda pay to win. The average player won't have mushrooms since you can't get any F2P

Both of these pokemon are badly nerfed. Bastis fast move pressure is nerfed into the ground and lanturn ate the spark nerf AND got his only water charged move option made more expensive. Both are crap in any matchup but the one they are fishing for. Lanturn can barely even stand up to the ground types he's supposed to be able to account for. Most importantly diggersby and clodsire exist, and as long as they are present both of these pokemon are a joke.

Skarm is out of the meta because the max out season move update was explicitly tailored to nerf every move skarm used into the ground. Skarm's golden moveset since the beginning of gbl was wingattack/steelwing, and sky attack. The double nerfed wing attack, made sky attack take more energy and nerfed the damage of steel wing. They murdered him directly, and ironically he still has some niche use because electric is so risky to run in the clodsire diggersby meta. Corvinight has the extremely cheap and efficient attack drill peck while skarm only has high energy nukes

Will NEVER happen lol. Basti is dead and buried. Fast move nerf, most broken and bulkiest meta mons are ground types with better pacing than him. He won't come back unless they give him a new broken move like rollout.
