You could start off with a balisong style knife mechanism but I haven't quite figured out how you'd extend the blade without some springs or some such!

i saw a copy who the guy used a teeth ruber to lock the blade they can use this

It'd probably require too much finesse and tight fittings for a blacksmith to do efficiently :/ and then we'd get a full plasma cut build which is never fun

I was agreeing with you :) I think in english, most people would refer to it as a "staff", since it is used for walking as well as magic but it's ok to call it a stick. In german, does zauber = magic? All that said - I think it would be a great prop to make!

First time sewing? I feel you man. I went there years ago for a project. And I gotta tell you, you picked something much simpler for your first sew. Mine was a pair of gloves. Definitely didn't end well!

Does the plastic not get hot when you touch it ?

It's a great question - the answer is that it can get hot enough to burn you, if you apply too much heat with the heatgun. But if you take it slow, with steady even passes of the gun, you will warm the thermoplastic to the point of malleability, and be able to work with it comfortably. Be safe, and thanks.

...Am I the only one who thinks that the prop-shop hosts don't know the point of this show? It's supposed to be budget building for skrubs. Copper wire? a skull prop bought just to ruin it? a sodding sewing machine? Budget, this ain't. At one point we were making props for £10-£30. What the hell happened? I could have made this by buying a halloween skeleton mask (from the £1 store ), some paint (£6), scissors (£2), felt (£2), super glue (£3) instead of buying a skull, a heat gun, mouldable material, vaseline, spray paint, 3 different glues, foam, felt, thatch, etc. I just made an option for building it without breaking the bank (under £15). Enjoy. ...I miss when this show would actually be inexpensive so viewers could actually recreate stuff.

the red fabric is supposed to be visible from the outside of the mask as well according to the collecters addition mask, and also the jaw is closer together if I recall correctly but I love the paint job and stuff you did.

Just a friendly piece of advise, if you don't like sewing that much and you want to glue, either get some fabric glue, or liquid latex, that way, you can glue without the fabric turning stiff.

Nice work It's not the best recreation I've seen but it's one of the best and it's really hard to make one. It would be cool if you made some other weapons from Dishonored Like Corvo's sword or crossbow
