Here you go. The version they sing here is only an excerpt - the original folk song consist of about 19 verses. The danish king has his people capture a mermaid The mermaid dances on the floor He has her imprisoned in the tower 'Cause she does not do his will You shall bear 3 courageous/wonderful sons the mermaid dances on the floor Thus they shall waste your young life In this I now do your will The mermaid was placed on the blue waves The mermaid dances on the floor The danish queen then cried and nobody laughed So she had done her will Soon you shall live and build you home in heaven The mermaid dances on the floor Only there will you have rest and peace Now I have done thy will.

​@@vanefreja86There are about 1000 different translations, but you are pretty darn accurate! One of the issues is the one word in chorus (warning, I am going to butcher the spelling) Tiej, can mean tower, boat, floor, or even window/opening. So during the chorus "Havfrue, havfrue danze om de tiej" can mean "Mermaid, mermaid dances in/on the tower/boat/floor/window".
