Except, from GMW, that friendship did change even if they're still close. They don't see each other every day like they used to, and Cory has a whole family of his own including two kids and a "stray" (read: Shawn's doppelgänger, Maya) to get his focus. It's not that the two aren't still like brothers, but a lot of Cory's time shifted to Topanga and then to family as well. It's a different dynamic even if it's the same title.

No, no, no...Cory said exactly what he was trying to say. Shawn wasn't acting like "trailer trash" he was upset, they BOTH were. Shawn just lashed out first. They were BOTH upset about this day, it was emotional, they both knew that it was a big milestone that was gonna change their friendship, Topanga was officially entering Cory's life and they knew that as his wife, Topanga was always gonna come first, Topanga was gonna be his new best friend. And Cory was refusing to talk about the fact that they weren't gonna be as close as they used to be. Cory didn't want Shawn to go and Cory and Shawn are best friends to say the least. They know exactly what gets under each others skin, and all their insecurities. Cory wasn't saying that to make fun of Shawn, or to hurt him out of spite, Cory said the one thing he knew would make Shawn stay, he knew EXACTLY what to do, you can see it all over his face, he saw that Shawn was leaving, he blurted out the best thing that he thought would make him stay and took the results. If Shawn really WAS angry that he called him that, he probably WOULD have thrown a punch but they just tackle each other, they don't really wanna hurt each other, they're just upset. They DO finally have it out tho. As you can see.

I will always be that young girl to her. And she treats me like I am some child. I know that is the way with some older siblings to treat you that way, but my sister goes above what she should. Most older siblings are protective of the younger ones to a point. But mine never lets me grow up. I can't make my own choices where she is concerned. I am even nervous about having her as a Bride's Maid. I am worried about how she will view my decisions. How childish she thinks they will be. She would make my wedding all about hers just cause she can't have one. I am only making her a Bride's Maid because she is family. All my family will be in it, and don't want her feeling left out. My mom has a huge job just being the mother of the bride (I will be paying for it; but she still has a big job), my dad will be giving me away. So I have to find a place for her. My mom wasn't in one of her sister's wedding (and all us neices and nephews were) and she felt left out. My sister was even a Bride's Maid, herself. And my dad was an usher at one of his brother's wedding and it also hurt him. So I don't wanna hurt my sister like my parents were hurt. I live by this rule: Just because you have known me longer than others doesn't make you closer. Just because you haven't known me for very long doesn't make you less closer to me. That's just my opinion, though.

Nah, I don't know if I'd call it hypocritical exactly... or at least, if it is, it was only because of the difference in circumstances. It was never *actually* about Shawn wanting a say in whether Cory and Topanga got married (heck, he was their #1 biggest supporter and was saying they should be together forever waaay before the actual wedding! haha), and both Cory and Topanga knew that. This altercation was just about Shawn knowing that Cory being officially married was inherently going to change things with their friendship. It was the start of their true adult lives, where they would each go on to have their own families and lives and, though they would always remain great, great friends, they would never be able to be quite the same "inseparable dynamic duo" again. And he was angry because Cory was doing everything he could to not talk about it or address the fact that it was a huge change in their lives and friendship. He mostly just wanted to talk it out before such a big change actually happened. By the time Shawn was getting married in GMW, they already WERE adults, living their individual adult lives (while of course still remaining amazing friends). So there just wasn't much in the way of things that they would need to talk about... it wasn't really changing anything in their relationship, and if anything it was only an awesome step for them as friends because it means Shawn will be around a lot more regularly! So it was just a totally different situation :)
