I wish the writers didn’t suddenly retcon their relationship so that they had “been together since they were children.” There was a missed opportunity to have them develop naturally into something just as great. Them suddenly being together their whole lives was always cringey and forced to me because it didn’t make sense given these earlier episodes.

Fully Agree, I would love to have seen Cory and Shawn kinda Lone Wolf it a bit. Maybe they started a little something but then the Pittsburgh move happened. Then Topanga came back in the next season or how long ever in the future. Still great though....

The reasoning for it is kinda sad tho. According to their podcast (highly recommended) Will (who plays Eric) theorised it’s bc Micheal felt bad he made Danielle cry while they were filming that scene. Apparently he was awful to her shouting that she couldn’t get it right. It’s still a funny addition tho 😆
