The comments on this platform is a good example on how black people in America are destroyed and finished!!! Y'all up here praising black men crying on national television, you're praising a woman who supports the killing of black babies up to 9 months, who's soft on pedophilia, who's trying to take parents rights away from law biding parents and last but not least, as a judge can't define what a WOMAN is, despicable!!!!! #NiggazInAmericaAreFinished

yeah, how Cory managed to get only 1% when he ran for president is crazy. Yeah, Kamala only got 2%..but so what. these are the top black leaders in America. ONE PERCENT???? And now these mean republicans asking all these difficult questions!!!! What is a woman anyway? Does anybody really know? Anyway why does a Supreme Court Judge have to know what a woman is? Its not shes gonna need to know this in her job.

I’m a mixed Hispanic man that grew up in North Alabama in the 80s. I faced racism from my teachers, neighbors, and the public. I couldn’t even go outside much after 9/11 due to the stares and comments.(I had a long beard at the time) I’m brought to tears because of how far we have come. This is a great event to witness for everyone. It’s very special, not only for black women, but all people of color.

When the confirmation hearings started, I was repeatedly reciting Maya Angelou's, Still I Rise. After this moment yesterday, I found this poem/prayer by Makeen Zachery that is noted below: A prayer For Black Women: I pray that the weights on Black women’s plates are lightened. That instead, our cups are filled to the brim with all of the joy and peace that our mere existence deserves. I pray that our arms raise music of our own hips, the metronome of our feet, the scores of our hums. That our laughs and snaps fuel the drumming of our hearts.
I pray that we feel no need for the validation of those who are not our own. That we are constantly reminded of the prophetic nature of our own minds. I pray that we Black women feel at home in our own celebrations of our majesty. That the love we offer ourselves and the world is shone back onto us by the sun and the moon, and poured back into us by the hands we hold. I pray that Black women, in this week and in this lifetime, grant ourselves permission to settle into our own expansiveness. That we bestow upon ourselves the key that only we have held through time.
I pray most of all that we find peace in our breath. And power in our declarations. ---Makeen Zachery And this part in particular shot through me yesterday as if I had touched an electric fence: "
I pray that we feel no need for the validation of those who are not our own." And of course with a granddaughter in Texas who reports nothing of this from her school's curriculum (no surprise), I thank the ancestors, I thank my parents, I thank Cory Booker, I thank Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, and I thank the good LORD for this day and the days that follow. The USA will indeed be better with this appointment. #BlackGirlMagic

I read a lot of comments but I needed to say to you that you are correct “he spoke confirmation into her.!” Many moons ago I would challenge women (especially black women bc I’m black) to ask the person that they were involved with “are you cultivating me for the greater good of what GOD has intended for me, not for your personal interest but for the greater of good?” Many thought that my words were (well I can’t put into synopsis the many analogies that I heard)!” On my eve of almost 50 some I have the blessing of still communicating with and they say “you were right, and I say “I understood what it means to be human, I understand “EZRA KENEGDO” I simply had a knowledge that many don’t seek. And that is what Senator BOOKER see in this magnanimous woman 🙏🏽🙏🏽!”

hell yeah she's earned a spot! much more so than most who covers a scotus bench today! thanks to mr. booker for allowing her tears to release her from the burdomsome, hostile assery she's encountered from small-minded privileged goons...and she did so, eloquently. and i confess she did so with much more poise and patience than i would have.
