They're a variety show. It's great that they figured out the proper balance between the music, and the skits and interviews. Shows always used to mess that up - way too little music. Plus, the old show actors mostly couldn't play, and had to hire a whole separate band, which usually became embarrassing in that the band was more talented than the actors. And so the actors were always trying to marginalize the band, to avoid that embarrassment - "Hey, you guys will play during the commercials, so the home viewers won't catch on and figure it out!" But we knew. We were like, "why don't they have the band in between the commercials, and then the actors could play skit highlights going into and out of breaks?" So then they started using DJs instead of bands. What a rip-off. This way is better.

Cory, I've been listening to your stuff actively since your release of Cory Wong and the Green Screen Band... Caught you live every time you've been near Madison or Chicago and I just gotta say I really appreciate your music and I'm glad it's starting to get the recognition it deserves, because you've certainly been on the grind. That said, I only have one simple request. I NEED to hear a Frogville at the next show you play in Madison. It's my girlfriend and I's favorite song and we have yet to catch one live. It would absolutely make our year! Thanks, Travis, a fan. P.S. I love how much your band has been able to cut loose a bit and start to mess around with improv. I know that's difficult to do a lot with a full horn section, but you guys still manage to make every show unique and special and the band's talent shines through. Keep on keepin' on!
