The contactor is save, its IP20 you are not able to touch any live part without tools. In most countries water and gas pipes are no longer grounded because most of the pipes are plastic.Everything is protected by differential switches, even bathrooms .Normally 30mA types. (in reality 22mA under 5ms). Fuses are there to protect the installation and differential switches are there to protect people. In europe the whole main head room would be a c1 because there is insufficient room to stay clear of potenial live parts.

With the 1.5 on a 20A C, it looks like tri-rated so depending on the manufacturer could be good for 21A, however most of the light blue ferrules I've come across have been for 0.75mm Tri-rated.
@olly76737 ай бұрын
The colour of the ferrule depends on the country of origin of the ferrules i.e is it to the German standard or the French one. Tri rated cables just means that it has passed 3 different standards, BS, UL and CSA so whatever BS7671 gives as values for 1.5mm2 is what should be taken in the UK, dependant on grouping, installation method etc or at least that would be my argument

The terminals on the contactor, even though you can see them, they are IP2X. However, IP2X is fine inside an enclosure, not exposed like that, so get a cover on them or put it inside and enclosure. Code 2.

Whether C20 mcb is suitable for 1.5mm T+E is dependent on installation method - if clipped direct then ok otherwise not. With regard to the exposed copper or single insulation being acceptable or not, this depends on whether it is inside a suitable enclosure or not.

Those terminals on the contactor satisfy IP2x requirements per australian standards but the dodgy cut into a cheap plastic din mount box is slack, should be in a locked / tool access only enclosure. I'd change it on principle though being that it's a piece of CHINT... also it's got leccy tape wrapped around the side of it? Smick as hell, they obviously already know it's not compliant.
