I think the expectation vs Execution when it comes to the enemies are lacking a bit, especially when it comes to the Ink Demon himself. I think it's mostly caused by the animations sometimes being a bit janky or awkward. The combat is the biggest culprit of this. The voice of the ink demon gets you scared, but then you actually see him, and you cant help but feel underwhelmed. Thats my own opinion at least.

Like please! 😭 31:43 so... if it's what I think it is... the ink demon can't slide through yet because it hasn't completed its transformation. It looks like the ink is still taking over its body. (Though I need to rewatch the first one to see what it looked like... because perhaps not... but I do get the feeling this is a prequel to everything that's happened.
