My grandpa died this morning, Friday December 22nd, 2023 at 9:45 AM. He was a veteran, a fighter, and the best grandpa in the world. He was everything to me. I have so many memories with him. He had cancer and a lot of issues with his lungs and heart. He got really sick and went to the hospital on December 14th, his birthday and two days after my birthday. He didn’t get better. He was only getting worse. A machine was keeping his heart beating. I wasn’t aloud to go see him because he wasn’t recognizable. My parents wanted me to keep the good memories of him and not have the way he was at the end imprinted in my brain. I knew this was coming, I thought I prepared myself. I don’t know how to feel. Christmas won’t be the same. I can’t believe he’s gone. 😖
