Cosmo Has incredible chaotic bard energy and this is one of his finest at it
@Conscientious_Objector71043 жыл бұрын
I actually used his music to create a couple of members of an NPC guild in my Homebrew world. The guild goes by The Platinum Dragons but just like how in Fairytail the guild is Fairytail but there are teams inside of it with unique names. Cosmo’s character (named Cosmo, go figure) is the leader of the Guild team: The Canting Trotters. Cosmo is a Stagrid (Satyr but it’s a Buck instead of a Goat, Homebrew) Multiclassed into College of Lore bard and Horizon Walker Ranger.

Come along catch a Heffalump, Sit with me on a muddy clump, We'll sing a song of days gone by. Run along now don't be glum, Get you gone now have some fun, Don't be long for the end is nigh. Don't let moments pass along and waste before your eyes, March with me and the borogoves, Come with me and the slithy toves, And never ask us why. Come come come come come along now, Run away from the hum-drum, We'll go to a place that is safe from greed, anger and boredom. We'll dance and sing till sundown, and feast with abandon, We'll sleep when the morning comes, and we'll rise by the sound of the birdsongs. We'll be here when the world slows down, and the sunbeams fade away, Keeping time by a pendulum as the fabric starts to fray. There's no such thing as time to kill, nor time to throw away, So once for the bright sky, Twice for the pig sty, Thrice for another day. Come come come come come along now, Run away from the hum-drum, We'll go to a place that is safe from, Greed anger and boredom. We'll dance and sing till sundown, And feast with abandon, We'll sleep when the morning comes, And we'll rise by the sound of the birdsongs. Come with me catch a rare type specimen, Cuddle up with a hesitant skeleton, We'll break our fast with friends. Once we're fed we shall disappear rapidly, Many moons to the west of here and happily, Our journey never ends. Shut your ears when sirens sing, Tie armbands to your feet, Listen up and you won't go wrong again, Float along on a verse-less song and then, Get to where the two ends meet. Come come come come come along now, Run away from the hum-drum, We'll go to a place that is safe from, greed anger and boredom. We'll dance and sing till sundown, and feast with abandon, We'll sleep when the morning comes, and we'll rise by the sound of the birdsongs.

So... I'm gonna write this here because the comments got turned off on the auto uploaded version of the song, which is where I left the original comment chain talking about this. Last year just before quarantine hit I found this song and was really inspired by how cinematic it felt, the character of it and how descriptive it was while still being able to be interpreted in a ton of ways. I ended up interpreting it as two people meeting in a nuclear post apocalypse where one of them was singing to the other about the bright side of everything happening. Mostly that they didn't have to do anything except party and occasionally find food and water. At first I was going to make a short animatic about these two characters just messing around and having fun but as I started to write little side stories I got super attached to them. After that I ended up deciding to make a few comic pages. Then I developed the characters and story more and slowly what was originally a little fun idea became the first comic I actually was dedicated to making. Now, I've got the first two pages up and I'm working on the third. The story has changed a lot and doesn't quite fit the song and is very different in tone than what I originally imagined. After everything I'm so glad I checked this song out at three AM. Thank you.

This song is actually in our show this year for marching band, along with Birthday Suit and Birth a Basket! Thank you Cosmo for making the music for our show this year!
@facelessfigure79854 жыл бұрын
I'm gonna make a short story on this, as I love to do. The youths followed the marching band of thriving monsters and ghouls. A dancing Stygian owl was wobbling on one clawed foot and wings spread as though it was balancing on a thin rope. Its claws dug into what looked like a vanilla cake with... were those white mice with their red eyes being the strawberries? The white frosting was dripping into the hungry mouths of the deformed monsters, their eager faces taking in all of the sweetness and the youths wanted a mere crumb of it. One youth sat upon a mossy clump while others followed the monsters through a swamp. The alligators were enticed by the music and began swaying their heads, baring their jagged teeth in strange smiles. "We'll dance and sing 'til sundown, and feast with abandon!" The owl sung loud as its voice rocked the crickets and fireflies. The slimy gunk that clung to the young children's feet seemed to slip off as some of the party-goers snatched them up by the shoulders and carried them along. The owl sung to one of them, "Come, come, come, come along now, run away from the humdrum! We'll go to a place that is safe from greed anger and boredom!" Its wing made a dismissive gesture and it bent backwards to raise a leg up. "So ONCE for the bright sky," one claw was raised, "TWICE for the pig sty," another claw, "THRICE for another daaay!" As the final claw was raised, the monsters howled in enjoyment as the trumpets sounded their arrival. A hesitant-looking skeleton jumped as one of the youths nuzzled up against its bones in pride. The boarlike monsters' honks and snorts turned to squealing laughs as the youths took their flags and batons and pointed them to the sunset sky. The treehouse was there, awaiting the band of ghoulish fools. The children laughed and teehee'd their way through the swamp's sloshing slime, tossing their batons in the air and spinning them. "We'll sleep when the morning comes," sung the owl as its wing brushed against the sky, the purple clouds and orange sky turning into a cold, starry night, "and we'll rise by the sound of the bird songs!" The circuslike monsters and trapeze artists that hung from tree branch and vine began to feast with the children. Sweets and candies filled their bellies, the owl itself ate a sugary mouse from the cake, of which each of the little ones were given a slice. The song was full of madness, but the sort of madness that had beauty in it that took hundreds of years to rot. The monsters took in the children as their own, and they, too, became them, as more candies and tarts filled their bellies; the sweetness called for more marching and singing, and it was only until the sunrise when they all vanished into the rays.

There was once a child who lived in a terrible home, and runs away. He runs to the forest and is never seen again. After that fateful day, children who go into the forest are never seen again. People say that boy never grew up and keeps other children as his friends, and no one grows up. Some say the children get killed, but no one is ever found after the search. People who live near the forest say they hear singing, and their kids always go to the singing when they’re not watching. Some have stoped their kids and say that kids are in a trance like state, and are oblivious to what happens.

We'll dance and sing 'till sundown, And feast with abandon, We'll sleep when the morning comes, And we'll rise by the sound of the birdsongs. Come with me catch a rare type specimen, Cuddle up with a hesitant skeleton, We'll break our fast with friends. Once we're fed we shall disappear rapidly, Many moons to the west of here and happily. Our journey never ends. Shut your ears when sirens sing, Tie armbands to your feet. Listen up and you wont go wrong again, Float along on a verse-less song and then, Get to where the two ends meet. Come, come, come, come, Come along now. Run away from the hum-drum, We'll go to a place that is safe from, Greed, anger and boredom. We'll dance and sing 'till sundown, And feast with abandon, We'll sleep when the morning comes, And we'll rise by the sound of the birdsongs.

argh i love Cosmos music! His voice is like so smooth and beautiful, as well as the instruments used. You cant hear much music that uses those anymore instruments anymore sadly.

Your music inspired two villains in the novel I'm working on. So... Thank you, mystical dimension-hopping Bard.

I have this song associated with many universes. After all, you always want to escape from ordinary life, and various adventures with friends, songs around the campfire and this song, this is what I need!

Music that has a melody is a rare find anymore. Lyrics that evoke fantasy are a bonus. Do it again!
