I’ve been meaning to get into your music and for this to be the first song I listen to? For this to touch me the way it did?? Not to be that guy in the comments, but this reminds me of my life in a way I can’t get anywhere else. I was raised primarily by my mom and basically described as her “mini me”. A lot of things about how I was raised wasn’t right, but I really didn’t know how to have an opinion if it wasn’t validated by her or people around me. I wasn’t even really a “person” back then. In hindsight, I feel like I existed as an agreeable but mindless vessel or something for people to impose their thoughts and will upon when they really had no power anywhere else in the world. I felt like a coping mechanism for people. I wasn’t ever really taught to have my own opinions or feelings on things and really a lot of what I wanted was just validation and affirmation from those around me. It was so much I sacrificed any tiny shred of individuality I could possibly offer. Even in the end when I tried to find myself in a peaceful way or form my own thoughts, it was a direct threat to those around me, but especially my mom. I wasn’t her agreeable little “mini me” that she kept under a lock and key anymore and there wasn’t anything worse to her than that. I had no idea things were as bad as they were and it was shortly after she died that I gained any source of sentience or humanhood in a weird way- like she tried to keep that from me intentionally. She was incredibly two faced, but even now everyone worships that woman. It’s like she had a cult and those people watched their God die even after tormenting them for years and they feel no choice but to have guilt and pity for her. Since then, everyone thinks I’m drowning in my sorrows over this woman who now, strangely enough, it feels like I never knew- but in all honesty, this is the most free I’ve ever been in my entire life. Even with this new freedom, connecting with what’s going on inside of me can be difficult due to disassociation and other things and this helped me a lot. All of this goes to say that I’m absolutely in love with your art. I completely understand the love for Cosmo Sheldrake. Nothing but my best wishes and gratitude for your work. Thank you. EDIT: I just listened to I stitched my mind back to my body stop doing this cosmo sheldrake I’m being attacked
