How amazing is it that us gamer's find such passion in the music in these games that decades later we're searching for them
@Kundalineage10 ай бұрын
And finding full on orchestral medleys to boot! You already know without any doubt; the maestro himself took heavy inspiration from Cross in the same way the rest of us did. I can't believe they actually added the "boinngggg" sound effect instrument from Termina. That's straight up amazing!
@Speedster1896 ай бұрын
It's not that, it's that during the first 2 decades of gaming, most of the best Japanese composers were hired to create music for a MASSIVE amount of video games and a lot of those songs are completely out of this world, musically. Such as the Pokémon battle theme song, the entire Zelda ocarina of Time sound track is a pure masterpiece and 1000 others
-- INDEX -- 00:00 :::: Garden of God 01:33 :::: Scars of Time 03:32 :::: Arni Village - Home World 05:35 :::: Termina - Another World 07:03 :::: Gale 08:08 :::: Victory - A Cry in Summer/Spring 08:49 :::: The Girl Who Stole the Stars 10:55 :::: Between Life and Death 12:18 :::: Grief 12:34 :::: Prisoners of Fate 13:54 :::: Beginning of a Dream 14:20 :::: Magical Dreamers ~ The Wind, Stars, and Waves 16:14 :::: The Dream that Time Dreams 17:57 :::: Dreamwatch of Time (labeled as "Scars of Time" (again) in the video)
We were envious growing up that you all got all the good games. These games are dear to my heart. After Final Fantasy 10 though the quality of Japanese role playing games went downhill. I’m glad to see Japan is returning to good form. My biggest issue right now is that the West is censoring Japanese games over here and in Japan.
Just imagine a Chrono Cross remake in the style of the new FFVII Remake. All of this music makes my skin tingle and hairs stand. So many beautiful childhood memories.

Final Fantasy Remake wasn't that good and it might get worse. This is the music of Mitsuda. It's timeless.

People like you Rebecca are the good side of youtube. Nothing to hate about your channel. And the 15 year old me was who I was when time stood still in this amazing game. Okay I take it back... There is something to hate about your channel... There isn't enough of it : )
Many games form the late 90s are underrated, CC is just one of them. Its the "social web game" plague causing people shifted to network gaming and abandon great stories like this.
@JackCaliber8 жыл бұрын
Eh, Chrono Cross' story wasn't the best. The plot was convoluted, motivations were muddled or underdeveloped, the original characters were killed off for no reason other than to be emo, etc. I'd prefer the stories of Undertale or Last of Us any day.
@krymsynrayne8 жыл бұрын
Cyber Jackalope I loved the plot. When the dragons revealed their true intentions, I was shocked. I still think that was one of the best and most unexpected plot twists in gaming. I loved Trigger (who wouldn't?), but I honestly prefer Cross. It hit me so much harder than Trigger, and has stayed with me much more.
@roaringviking56938 жыл бұрын
+Grey Aria Totally agree. I never liked Trigger that much though, but I really love Cross. One of my favorite games ever.
@RollsChaotic7 жыл бұрын
It took me years to really appreciate this game. As a huge fan of Trigger, I was hoping for and anticipating a more direct sequel, and that got in the way of really appreciating the beauty of this game. But the Dream Team didn't make a game just for fanservice--they made a passion project with incredible, immersive depth. Sure, I think there are very valid criticisms about jarring narrative pacing and unnecessary characters that add very little to the plot. But at the end of the day, through a combination of visual art, music, and narrative, certain games create lingering emotional experiences that pull you back into them again and again, not unlike the interwoven time streams of the Chrono universe.

12:35 There's nothing in the world as ruthless or impartial as death. All living matter ages over time and eventually dies... No matter how mighty or tiny its life force... So being alive means you're creeping closer to death with every second... But there's none of that here. No one and nothing ages. Nothing wastes away. This quiet, boundless, and beautiful world... An ideal world, straight out of a fairy tale, isn't it? A place and time that belongs to no one... Res nullius... It's because this is a future that was eliminated!!! History is composed of choices and divergences. Each choice you make creates a new world and brings forth a new future. But at the same time, you're eliminating a different future with the choices you didn't make. A future denied of all existence because of a change in the past... A future that was destroyed before it was even born rests here... condensed into the Dead Sea. -- Miguel

Grey Aria the past, present, and future, represented as clotho, lachesis, and atropos (the moirai).. in the interlaying worlds, another and home, the existence of one world provides answer to problems exist in the other. This dialogue perhaps explains why the statue of the moirai (clotho, lachesis, and atropos) located in chronopolis, the same location as the dead sea in another world.
