And now for something a little different, geeks! Today we'll be pimping out the Jakks pacific R2-D2 figure with a steampunk/ rustic inspired finish. Enjoy!

When I first started watching I thought this was going to be too goofy to be cool, but it's amazing. And apart from the monocle, I can see a Star Wars story set 1,000+ years after the original trilogy where an R2-D2 like this would make sense. Great work, yet again!

Try frog tape when you want to paint a part of the item. From what I've heard, it won't leave a sticky residue and it comes off clean.

Hey Chris, next time the tape takes the paint off, embrace it and use it as part of your weathering rather than fixing or repainting. it's surprisingly effective and the washes take to the paint layer well.

Lol when you said, "STEAMPUNKING THE SH*T OUT OF IT!!!"
@paulturner46847 жыл бұрын
Looks like you were using full on masking tape there. If you don't already know, they make blue painter's tape that masks off just as well, but is far less grippy on freshly painted surfaces. Perfect for modeling or customizing
