I use the Cosrx 96 snail mucin essence and I really love it. I think it’s so moisturizing and I love that so much because being oily I need moisture to not be oily but too much in my serums or moisturizers can cause me to be super oily and break out. I feel it’s changed my skin a lot and that is a blessing to me. 💜💜

I use it under my prescription 15% azelaic acid in the morning and under my prescription Twyneo (tretinoin and benzoyl peroxide cream) in the evening. My dermatologist said the best way to use this is on damp skin after cleansing & putting a moisturizer on top of it because it is a humectant it’s gonna bind to the water that’s on your skin when damp & if you don’t seal it with a thick moisturizer it’s gonna cause an increase in water lost in the skin & dry your skin out. Similar to hyaluronic acid , if you don’t seal it with a moisturizer it’s gonna just suck all the water out of your skin and dry your skin out. Just a tip on how to use! ☺️i realized that making sure my skin is wet/damp when I put any humectant like hyaluronic acid on and then sealing it with a thick moisturizer really really hydrates and plumps my skin like never before! I use to dry my face after cleansing and then put my products & that was the problem. So I don’t even dry my face anymore I just wipe some water off of my face with my hands after cleansing and go right in with my treatments and serums. That was a game changer for me. Moisturizer should always be the last step so it can seal in all the products you put on before.

From my studies on snail mucin it can be really great for acne prone skin due to the natural acids in the mucin. I haven't had a lot of luck using the snail cream in my morning routine- although it did seem to work okay today because my skin was feeling so dry and irritated, I did have to let it absorb for about 5 minutes before applying foundation. I think if I were you I'd start trying to use it at the end (or towards the end) of your evening routine to see how it works on your skin, and if it works well in your evening routine maybe try it in the morning. You'll have to let me know what you think of it- everyone I know that has tried it ended up loving it sooner or later. 😍😍

They are kind of expensive but I don't think I have a use for them now. I'll include it and if you might as well give them a try. I find that I like the cream a bit more and find myself reaching for it more often, but the Essence is much easier to fit into a routine, especially like you mentioned using it in your morning routine. Sometimes I feel like certain products don't make a huge difference until I take them out of my routine, and within a few days my skin starts acting up, or just isn't as bright or hydrated as when I had that product in my routine. I had this experience with the Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream, once I stopped using it for a week my skin started to get dry and also much more sensitive to other products I was using. It's the crazy thing about skin care- it's all super individual and also extremely subjective. It might be worth a try to stop using it for a week or two and then reevaluate how your skin is looking as feeling. That's what makes Skincare so interesting to me, it's so individual but there are rules of what tends to work with certain types of skin, but you just never can be 100% certain of anything. Kind of like life I guess....

A new one that I've been trying and liking so far is the Laneige Cica Sleeping Mask, I'm almost ready to review it but I want to give it another week. Have you tried any of these before?

I've also heard that, although I believe the amount is pretty small so I would not worry using it with vitamin c or vitamin a (and I do use it with both myself without any issues).

I love them both for different uses. If my skin is feeling super sensitive I like to use the essence. If my skin is feeling normal then I'll just use the cream. I think the cream is probably the best bang for your buck and the one I'd pick if I only could choose one.

@NOBSBeauty3 жыл бұрын
Definitely- I think these are great to use in your evening routine- typically I'll use them as the last step since both of them are very hydrating, even the toner works well at the end, or towards the end, of my evening routine.
@amyutuk78773 жыл бұрын
Okay thanks a love! Love your review. So its safe to say for the AM- snail essence + neutrogena hydroboost gel cream. PM- snail essence + snail all in one cream. ? I’d also like to know if my vit C serum goes before or after the essence and if it’s okay to be used morning and night.
@bindupillai94633 жыл бұрын
I have combination skin so can I use the cream in both AM and PM as moisturizer?
@NOBSBeauty3 жыл бұрын
I probably wouldn't recommend in the morning, it takes a while to absorb, which makes it great at night because it has time to soak in. I would go with a light daytime moisturizer- the Cosrx Lightweight Soothing Moisturizer is quite nice as well as their Balencium B5 D-Panthenol Cream- I think either of those would work a bit better.

Can i use vitamin c serum after applying the snail essence?
@NOBSBeauty4 жыл бұрын
You definitely can! If your vitamin c serum is water based I'd probably recommend applying it before the snail essence. The snail essence is a bit occlusive so I usually like to use it at the end of my routine.

You certainly could, since it is kind of a gelatinous texture be sure to mix it in your palm for a few seconds before applying it so that it doesn't clump or feel grainy.

I bought this based off your reviews! For some reason it was not a product I was scared to try. Most I'm intimidated! I use this in my AM & PM. A bit of it goes A LONG way. After I put pea size amount of cerave to seal it. I do notice I'm oily at work but not sure if its mostly work causing it. I'm soon to add to snail cosrx essence is it ok to use both in routine?
@NOBSBeauty4 жыл бұрын
I wonder if you would notice a little less oil if you started to use the Essence in your morning routine and the cream in your evening routine 🤔 The cream is extremely hydrating so I could see how this could cause skin to be a bit more oily than it normally would be. I find the Essence to be hydrating, but it seems to absorb a bit quicker than the cream. I use both so many different ways, depending on how my skin is feeling. I usually use the essence on my super dry neck, but morning and evening. Then in my evening routine I use the cream as my last step to seal everything in.

Hi i hope you see this can this be used with a rosehip oil im scared because i ordered them and i dont know if its overboarding if i add them both to my routine
@NOBSBeauty3 жыл бұрын
Rosehip oil is a great oil- lots of antioxidants in it as well as non-comedengic for most people. I've found that using oil under the snail cream is the easiest way to go. Most oils when used over this cream end up causing pilling. I'd say if you are looking to add a bit more moisture rosehip oil is a good way to go.

The 92 has more of a gooey creamy consistency. The 96 has more of a gel/ liquid texture. Both are wonderful, but for different steps in your routine.

You can definitely use this after Retinol, actually it will really help your skin tolerate the Retinol much better and help prevent dryness and flaking from the Retinol.

The one that comes in the bottle is there Snail Mucin Essence, which is also a wonderful product. The one in the bottle is a bit lighter texture and is also Fragrance and denatured alcohol free. I tend to use them both depending on how dry my skin feels at the time.

Does this product feel sticky even after it had sunk in a bit? If so, is it an uncomfortable sticky feeling?
@NOBSBeauty4 жыл бұрын
Because it does take a while to sink in, I tend to only use the moisturizer in the evening. The Snail Essence I can use in the daytime when my skin is REALLY dry and it tends to sink in more than the cream. I don't find it to be an annoying stickyness or a suffocating sticky feeling. I think it's worth trying if you haven't, it can be a total game changer for your skin.
