Return of the legendary Cossacks! The sequel of the award winning strategy series.
Leaning on the history of the 17th and 18th century, the real time strategy game awakens colossal mass battles with up to 10,000 soldiers simultaneously on the battlefield.
This remake of the classic game, that originally launched in 2000, contains all of the elements that distinguish the successful Cossacks games and combines them with contemporary 3D-graphics. Cossacks 3 provides the player with infinite tactical options, including not only the construction of buildings, the production of raw materials, but also the broad selection of various units and the influence of the landscape.
Twelve nations, 70 different unit types, 100 research opportunities, and over 140 different historical buildings are available to the player. Besides the battles ashore, players can build an armada and attack their enemies at sea. Cossacks 3 offers five historic single player-campaigns and up to eight players can fight each other in multiplayer-mode on one map. The player can forge alliances with or against others as well as challenge the computer. Randomly generated maps provide endless variations and can be adapted to the gamer’s needs.

Also I saw that you complitely avoid Roundshiers, but i think that is a little mistake, because Roundshiers have 81% more hitpoints than Light Infantrymen, attack 8% faster, defense upgrades cost 28% less, wear upgradeable armor (very good protection against swords, shot and grapeshot). put one big unit infront of your musketeers it will be a bit difference.

Roundshiers are weaker than the Pikeman. They have 5 points more life, but that's that, the pikeman are more efficient.

But they have much better armor. just put them in front of your standing rank of musketeers. I was tryed and its funcioned.

What are Spain's strengths in this game? Recently lost a game due to the fact my maxed pikemen were not as good as France's.

Your pikemen are equal strong as france's pikemen. (if you also make the upgrades in the accademy and by the blacksmith). Actually, after i read your comment, i tried it out in the editor: 196 maxed out spain pikemen against 196 france pikemen. all maxed out: Maybe because france's pikemen hitted the spain's pikemen more equal then spain's pikemen hitted france's pikemen, france lost it's first units earlier in my scenario. This small advantage for spain ended in a victory for spain and 65 pikemen survived. Spain doesn't seem that special in the game. Maybe i overlocked something (like unit training costs or something like that), but it seems to have almost no advantages, but also no disadvantages. It has small houses, thats good.
