Interesting, I wish I saw your video earlier. Building in Ghana too. I opted for flat roof for the same idea as yours. Party and beautiful scenery at the top floor 😀. I am due for screeding today. Wanted information on screeding hence I came across your video. Well done both.

Playing catch up with your videos, just found you. I love the technical details so don't change it. There are many other sites that simply gloss over so anyone not wanting it then this not the site for them. I am building in Kasoa and I actually converting an old house to a story building. Would love to chat with anyone doing the same or is building in that area too. (Nyanyano Kasoa). Going to go with the flat roof too from your informative video it made sense. I will also put my Poly tanks up on the roof to get good water pressure. This will reduce the need to build something extra (cost again) to place them. Excellent content guys

Thanks for your comment. Much appreciated. The flat roof is a good idea. Just make sure you use Pre-mix water-proof concrete. I am going to put a gym on the roof as well.. Its a space that can be used more efficiently. Pre-mix concrete suppliers - there are many around - Monolo Plant, Betonsa Ghana Ltd, etc. All the best and keep in touch..

Did you forget include cost of wood and carpenters for the aluminium sheets option. Also the estimated costs of roofing sheets and labour seem quite a bit too costly compared to what I paid less than 2 years earlier.
@kwasiglobal42863 жыл бұрын
How will the prices compare if you add cost of form work i.e cost of wood trusses and iron rods for the aluminum sheet and concrete roof respectively.

@@kingstal90 you need to use the Arkproof W80 75% ( waterproof) according to the contents of your cement, I would better recommend usage of Bitumen sheet rather than Arkproof W80 for your roof top

Hi family, you guys are steaming along quickly and beautifully. Very good building information. As usual, you guys are a warm and beautiful couple. 1. Any idea as to how long the home will take to be completed (as a whole fm start to finish)? 2. What is your idea of time to return back to the land of promise ( leave the UK)?
@kingstal903 жыл бұрын
1. Including purchase of land I assume. Not easy to answer as there are many variables. For 4-bed house maybe allow 9months to be on the safe side. 2. Waiting on TMHY.....We will let you know once we make the move. Bless You

Aluminium longspan is ok. However, you can go for a higher gauge, say 0.45mm. It's easy to manage as per leakage. The colour must be oven baked not just some backyard spray work.

Thanks for the educative videos; picked up loads of ideas from em. I see you did not include the cost of tiling the concrete roof in your price comparison. Is there a chance you’ll share that info? Also is it always necessary to lay down the poly membrane before you pour the foundation/ground floor concrete? Thanks much
@kingstal903 жыл бұрын
Poly membrane - do you mean Damp Proof Course Membrane. if so, I would say yes it is necessary. If you take the chance and don't install then it is difficult to fix the problems that may arise in the future.
