You're going to get the American treatment by Trump whereby he said he would lower grocery prices quickly if elected. But now after the election, he backtracks and says it's very hard to do so. If you're a poor person then don’t vote for Pierre Pollivere. There's no upside for you. Change for the sake of change is not necessarily better. It could be and will be worse for you.

Preferably before his stupid carbon tax goes up in April. The cost of groceries isn't going to go down just because that tax is gone. Grocers etc will keep current prices and pocket the income. If the tax goes up again before Trudeau gets out, we'll be dealing with an even bigger cost on groceries, even though Poilievre is going to cut it. We need Trudeau out before the carbon tax goes up again.

@scribbler60 18 күн бұрын
@@BobBob-b5dFun fact: the "rebate" won't cover the extra expense due the useless carbon tax plus the GST on that tax, according to statistical analysis completed by the Parliamentary Budget Office. If someone takes $20 from your wallet, and says, "Oh, here's $16 back," are you better off? My math says no. Not sure what Liberal math says.
@BobBob-b5d
@BobBob-b5d 18 күн бұрын
@@scribbler60Fake fact is what you're spreading. The PBO factored everything into it (fiscal + economic factors) and 40% of Canadians (the poor and needy) still come out better with the rebates, unless they're major net polluters. Not everyone loses. Then another 20% pretty much breaks even. And then the last 40% lose progressively relative to their income, up to about 3,000$/year. But these ppl are rich so it’s no real burden on them… Furthermore, they can mitigate their losses by changing their habits and behaviours.
@BobBob-b5d
@BobBob-b5d 18 күн бұрын
@@scribbler60Your example only applies to the top 20-40% income households. It’s not for all. Your mistake is that you hear “the average Canadian household loses” so you apply this to everyone and assume they all lose. No. The lower and middle income ppl pay less and get more. It's just the high income households which lose. But they lose a lot more (something like up to about 3,000$) so this drags the overall average into the negative. The negative average cost does not mean everyone loses.

Fruits and vegetabless are going to be costly because of the logistics involved, you got fruit and vegetables grown in Africa, Taiwan being shipped to places like Argentina to be packaged then being shipped to Canada, all the fees involved is why prices are so high what we need is more indoor growing facilities so we can grow our own fruits and veggies year around and that should in theory drop prices on produce
