Note that in Paris there is no large supermarkets only express markets ( like carrefour express so small surfaces shops ) so it is more expensive than going to a real large supermarket like Carrefour for exemple you can find outside of Paris or at the edge of the city ( the best value for money in Paris are Lidl and Aldi ) . Now in another hand there is a lot of outdoors markets during the week coming at different days depending on your area called arrondissements (there is 20 arrondissements in Paris and anywhere outside these 20 arrondissements and you are not in Paris anymore ) and those markets are good value but not practical if you have a 9 to 5 job. For a student the travel pass (pass navigo) you can use anytime for metro , buses and trains in roughly a circle of 60 km from the city center so up to the far suburbs will cost you 420€ for the year .

Exactly what surprised me, how is it possible to spend only 15€/week on food unless eating rice or pasta every day. Perhaps 20 years ago yeah for a single student it was possible to spend as few as that on food but still buying the cheapest things. But now ? I imagine no fruits no vegetables as their cost is quite high.

300 euro apt will look like a room with no toilet aka janitor's storage....It is ridiculous I would never live in that shithole just be able say I live in Paris..I mean there are apts as low as 9sqm (legal minimum) or even less...This is the size of bathroom only in the MidWest US
