As a traveling NMT, I had to master IV insertion really quickly. I remember when I first started out in the field, I would pray that God would help me do my IVs because I would miss the vein so many times. And I’m the only one who can place them whenever I work a site. Now that I’ve been doing this for a year and a half, it’s very rare when I miss. Glory to God for that! I didn’t even know about the Ebin thing. That’s fouled up and will not be buying anymore of their products 😒

I watch your channel as often as possible because I am impressed with your transparency and bravery to discuss the many critical issues that nurses face daily. I have the most respect for the wonderful care I received from multi-cultural nurses while I was experiencing a heart attack. I am in awe of your stories in nurses-thank you, thank you for openness. I fully support you in spirit if I can do something kind for you, please let me know. God Bless!

Kendra! I totally agree with your point on minority beauty supply stores. Which is why I only support the very rare but slowly emerging black owned beauty supply stores. More and more Afri-Canadian salons are supplying their customers with the very supplies they get at those other minority stores and I usually support those businesses too. Great topic of discussion, Kendra!

My unit got closed down last weekend. So I got cancelled for my Friday and Sunday night shifts. I'm part time and only work the weekends. We got and email yesterday saying the hospital census is still very low and the unit will remain closed through this coming weekend. They will reevaluate next Monday on if they will reopen it.. I used PTO but I'm down to about 15 hours. Until then I will have to rely on my prn job (I get maybe 12-16 hrs per week) and rental income. I keep checking my account for that direct deposit!!!!

I must correct you in regard to North Dakota. I lived in Minnesota, conveniently next door, and summers are miserable! Humid, mosquitoes the size of tanks and horse flies that don't die when you smack them, they just laugh at you! Don't go to North Dakota!!!! By the way, I'm always impressed with people who are good at placing IVs. They've just never been my jam. Foley catheters, no problem, IVs 😢.

Have u tried IntraStaff with Hopkins? My contract just got reduced with my renewal, still more than what's out there right now. It usually picks up n the fall. Many facilities have increased the pay 4 their nurses, but have not improved working conditions. I've learned that some to the unions on the East coast r trash. I'm not mad @ it though. U get what u negotiate sometimes. The next 5 yrs n nursing r going 2 b very interesting.

The only black people I’ll see in the beauty supply stores they are an employee or like an advisor. 6:55 that’s discriminatory. That’s crazyyyyyyy. 8:03 I just feel sometimes spiritually we don’t mobilize strategically to obtain progression because we are one foot in one foot out. IMO. We have power honestly we just have to move accordingly to get change. 13:58 girl gas and food I can’t deal. 18:34 I have to find an internship my first year in school and the pay is trash to rely on it alone.
