I'm a high school teacher in a public high school in Costa Rica. I'm using the video to teach my students English as a Second Language. Thanks for the hard work.

Hi Daniel. Thank you for watching and giving me feedback about the videos. Glad to hear the videos are being helpful to your class for ESL. My wife was a school teacher so I personally know the hard work and dedication that is required to do what you do as a teacher. Again thank you for commenting and a big hello to you and your students !

Thanks for mentioning that you need a reservation at the volcano! Good to know ahead of time!

Yes indeed. Many cars were turning around as they showed up without a reservation.

NICE VIDEO ! We have visited Poas, Irazu, and Arenal volcanoes - and think Poas is the most impressive. Be prepared with a rain pancho though - it rains frequently !

I visited it in 2019 May! It was Majestic and the fumes were still coming up.

Can visitors drive to the top? My 81 year old mother would like to see it but I’m not sure she can walk far and in the heat..

Here is the contact page for the Park service that manages that park. www.sinac.go.cr/ES/ac/accvc/pnvp/Paginas/Contacto.aspx

Wonderful video Roger. On another note, a recent web site on travel and living in CR, explained that the proposed increase in CAJA will not be happening. Is that true? Will residents continue to pay the same amount for their CAJA? We have applied for residency so I’m very interested in hearing your response.

Hi. Thank you for your comments. Regarding the CCSS (Caja) payments for foreigners this has been a confusing subject to say the least. This is due to an internal change of criteria in their regulations that added the obligation to pay into the IVM (pension portion of the fund) in addition to the previous requirement to contribute to the health portion of the fund. There have been administrative claims filed against the CCSS and they have ruled that for Pensionados they should not be obligated to pay into the IVM portion (pension). In addition another congressional bill has been presented to change the immigration law as it relates to the obligation to pay for CAJA so I would suspect to see some changes in 2023. I will try and put together a video to cover these CCSS questions now that we see there is some advances being made.

Hi Roger, Great video and info. Do you think going to Poas would be super busy during Holy Week? Also are there any Hot Springs in this area? Thanks Barbara
@CostaRicaLaw2 жыл бұрын
Hi Barbara Since you need a reservation to enter the park that limits the crowds to those that have tickets. So Easter may be crowded in the area but the number of people actually entering the park will be limited. Just be sure you have tickets for the date you want to enter. As to hot springs. I am not aware of any in the vicinity of Poas. Most seem to be heading out towards La Fortuna near Volcan Arenal. Here is a blog post comparing the different hot springs www.therealdealtours.com/blog/blog/the-best-hot-springs-in-costa-rica/

HI ROGER - guess there's still no action regarding enactment of the "Pensioner Law" yet ! It's been a full year since the previous President signed it, and STILL the bureaucrats are holding up the Costa Rican oxcart !
@CostaRicaLaw2 жыл бұрын
Correct. The regulations to the Law to Attract Pensioners, Investors and Rentistas has still not been implemented. However they are accepting the reduction in the investment for investors from $200k to $150k. What is still pending is the tax exemptions from the Department of Revenue
@marytica1232 жыл бұрын
@@CostaRicaLaw Thanks for the update ! Hope we're still spry enough to move, by the time Dept. of Revenue makes up their mind !
