Tell me about it I live at Aldi😁 I am always there and I normally don’t pay attention to the prices but now I do. I spent $121 the other day there and I really didn’t get that much. Have you seen the price of chicken breast there, a family pack it’s like $13 and the jumbo pack of wings $17🤯I almost bought the pass out🫣 but you know what, Aldi is still my absolute favorite store I love it love it love It❤

Hey there, Jia. I know that so many items have increased so much much since the pandemic. I could get strawberries and blueberries, etc. so much cheaper. Just in the last year, the increase has increased insanely. It’s a shame. I would love to see more videos like this one. Thanks for sharing!

Another good video! Costco seems to have really increased more on the items they make (bakery) and the meals they make are very expensive. The Chicken Pot pie used to be $16.99 (which I thought was expensive in 2020) and then in 2021 they went up to $27, YES!! and now they are back down to about $22. That is still a huge price for pot pie.

The pesto is the best deal in town. You only use like a tablespoon or so per person. That jar is enough for multiple dinners. It is fresh with real cheese but you can portion it out and freeze it.

I live in the Netherlands, in a village surrounded by farms. for example, for 10 farm fresh eggs we pay €2.99 ($3.25). For 1.5 liters of whole milk from the supermarket we pay €1.29 ($1.39) By the way, I love watching your videos! thanks for sharing! ❤

Fat Kid Moment - I love me some Ben & Jerry's. I live in MA. A pint used to be $4.79 in my area. Now, they are $6.49. That's a 35% increase in price!!! I might not be a Fat Kid for much longer ☹☹ That's one funny, non-essential item, but in general prices have gone up EXPONENTIALLY on nearly everything. Here's my serious example: I usually buy canned beans (yes, I know dry beans are cheaper, but I'm not willing to take that time out of my day for all dat lol) for my lunch salad protein source. A can of black beans used to be $0.79, on sale for $0.50. Now, they are $1.29 a can(!!), on sale for $0.88. Comparing the regular prices, that's an increase of 63%!!!!! Comparing the "sale" prices, you will see a modest increase of 76%. The jokes are writing themselves at this point.

It is insane, what the prices are! My usual Costco haul went up almost 40%. Our country still doesn't value caretakers, and the emotional strain of that task. Then, to add on top of that the loss of income because now all my energy and effort is taken up by our special needs daughter... It's a lot.

Great video. I just did a video yesterday looking at the Costco flyer. The sales start Jan. 31. I wrote down a few prices now, to see if they raise the prices when they have sales. I constantly talk about what prices were like back when. Like certain staple items, milk, eggs, bread etc. It's terrible how high it is for groceries. Hugs ❤❤

So interesting to see the comparison with the video evidence. I’m sure there’s some cost increase trickling down from production costs increasing (I guess I have never seen that evidence personally). I don’t shop Costco but I had been considering a membership until all the prices rose. But the good thing is since it’s been a couple years I have been able to get my equilibrium back with this and it’s changed my consuming habits. I pay closer attention to sale trends, learn the new sale prices when they go low, and I cut out the unnecessary stuff and chose to be creative with recipes and explore other foods.

It was shortly after that they had the first two Covid cases up in Cherokee county and I just decided trip was over and we came back to Montana. I'm seeing increases still just from Walmart prices. WinCo is a bit better, but it's ridiculous.

What would be nice is with this major price increase with our food if they got rid of all the chemicals in our food and made organics affordable for everyone. Here in California I didn’t renew my Costco membership two years ago because I saw so drastically they increased prices. It depends on your state and your city area. I visited my sister and her family in Texas last year and their Costco and HEB Grocery prices were so damn cheap to me. (I’m from California and everything was so cheap there in comparison to me paying over 30-50% more for same items here in my city in California). I no longer see the value in Costco and shop elsewhere I shop at two different store for the deals.

I used to like Costco toilet paper. Now it seems all I do is change rolls. I live alone, so I’m using the same amount. I saw someone on line complaining that Costco must have changed manufactures because it was much thinner. I agree. This is another way to raise prices. I’m a senior, so I remember when coffee was sold in a pound can, vegetables in a 16 ounce can, ice cream in a half gallon, etc. This a sneaky way to raise prices that you may not notice. Just reduce the amount of the item and not change the size of the can. 2:03

I bought a few of those jumbo packages of Charmin at Costco after the toilet paper shortage in 2020. Recently bought Charmin from Costco which has smaller and thinner squares. Everything is getting crappier, and there is shrinkage everwhere you look. Don't get me started on chocolate bars, they are a great yardstick for inflation via cost, shrinkage, and cheap ingredients.

I like to get chicken thighs at Costco. If you buy the cheapest ones, they were .99 a pound around 2020. Now they are 1.49 a pound, a 50 percent increase. I refuse to spend close to $5 a pound for chicken. That's beef territory (hamburger and brisket.) I like to bake 3 bags of chicken thighs in the oven with some seasoning, pour the rendered fat into a pot of sauteed vegetables, and add a cup or two of chicken broth, one can cream of chicken, and one can cream of mushroom soup. Then I pull the meat off the bones and toss that in as well. Perhaps add some white wine near the end of the simmer. It is perfect with pasta, similar to pot pie filling.

She lives in a massive house which I'm very grateful they have because obviously they work hard for their money but to complain and go on and on and on and every video makes it very frustrating. It's like lady either buy it or put it back but stop the complaining about the price hike.

@@empresskrystal blah blah blah. Why don't you go back to all her videos and count up how many people complain about the same issue over and over again. I am by far not the only one. When she provides other content it's perfectly enjoyable to watch. I will not have you, a total stranger, censor my opinion along with other people's same opinion. She does indeed complain way too much. We all get it pricing has been going on for the last 3 years we don't always need her going on and on about it. Especially then when she turns around and continues to buy the brand names. It's tone deaf and overkill.

1. I didn’t single you out in my comment. I didn’t say just you are the one complaining. 2. You (a total stranger) are attempting to censor Jia’s opinion but then say I can’t censor yours. The fact you can see the hypocrisy in that statement proves my point. You are now complaining about her complaining. That don’t seem off to you? 3. I absolutely hate paying taxes and complain every time and yet I still pay them. She still buys the food because she has to feed her family. If something is too much she does choose not to buy it. 4. You can complain about her all you want. That is absolutely your right and it’s mine to say your complaint is unnecessary and invalid since you’re doing the same. 5. Again I wasn’t saying just you but the shoe must fit if you felt the need to defend when you weren’t attacked. 6. Have a wonderful life ✌🏾

@@empresskrystal sweet heavens you do know how to use a lot of words to say absolutely nothing right? We are exercising our right to make observations about her repeated level of complaining. It is tiresome and nobody wants to keep hearing it in every single food video. Can you not tell the difference? The fact that 17 people until now have agreed with the original comment should tell you something. There is no hypocrisy in my comment. But seriously you need to just let this go because you're not changing my mind just like I have no interest in changing yours. Continue supporting her and I'll do what I feel is best for me.

I watch and LOT of HGTV and the designers are ALWAYS using sectionals. Not those old brown granddaddy looking ones but that "Cloud" couch I've seen them like that LOTS.
