Family of 4 (3 boys) and always extra friends or family and having a decent stock up on items always helps. I repeatedly stock up on loads of pasta rice and tinned items always good to know its there if ever an emergency

@@sallystories There is a subset of individuals that feel it is their annointed duty to make what they claim are " snarky" comments about DD content.They seem to think it is their "right" to critically weigh in on Alesha and Josh's parenting.I think they need to get a life and find something productive to do in the "real world."Why waste your time ranting at a screen about individuals you don't even know? This is ENTERTAINMENT. We are Fans, not friends and family, although DD makes us feel that we are a part of the events unfolding here. Watching the DD is like reading a good book or watching a favorite television show. Much better content though and very relatable.

I always keep a year supply of food in the pantry and freezer at all times. When storms, pandemics , etc.. hit. We only have to stock up on the essentials. My family is a lot smaller. I couldn't imagine the panic if I had a bigger family to feed. I'm already planning my garden space for next year. If the pandemic didn't teach us anything else, it's about preparedness. Good jod for thinking of your family and staying prepared. People are going to judge. I personally would LOVE to see how THEY would accommodate a family of 14. If you aren't coming with anything positive or a solution. Then politely exit stage left. Okay. OFF MY SOAPBOX🧡

I am single mom. I am glad that I have family around to help me. At times I have a hard time with money. I try my best. To give my daughter the best I can. My car is getting looked at in the shop. The trolley thing is called a flat top. I am the master of running them into absolutely EVERYTHING at work 👍 I can move an entire pallet taller than I am through a busy store without knocking a single thing, but a flat top I can ram into every single thing I pass.

@@bonniemcglothlin4990 no it’s only a US and Canadian holiday commemorating a meal between pilgrims and native Americans I believe? We have Australia Day on January 26th which is like your 4th of July it’s our Summer and we have bbqs and outdoor concerts, fireworks & family fun. We really only celebrate with a big meal and extended family at Christmas. A lot of families have long family lunches every Sunday though, that’s when you’ll do a roast dinner or big pastas, meat on a spit roast, a hungi, it depends on your cultural background. The key is to make friends with lots of people from different countries to get invited to their mums for Sunday lunch 😂.

Pork Butt isn't a pig's butt, it's the shoulder. They called it that because back in colonial times they packed them, they would "butt" them up really close together in barrels. (this is one of the useless bits of information I know, being a farmer. I knew it would come in handy someday! lol) The big's butt is always ham. 🐖

Alicia, I once had 14 people in my home for 10 days over the Christmas holiday. It was a ton of work and chaos, but I loved every second of it. Christmas day dinner was 32 people. And I just realized this is your life daily. All I can say is holy sh*tballs! 😅

We do sparkling grape juice or water for thanksgiving! My sister is hosting this year! I always make the pumpkin pie and spinach dip in a Hawaiian bread bowl with extra Hawaiian bread rolls for dipping!! I can’t believe next week is thanksgiving!! I better see what I need!!

I work in a restaurant and alot of the canned goods you buy may be able to be bought at a wholesale/supply store in the large cans like the sauce your mom gave you..usually much cheaper/ much easier than having to open many small cans.

I grew up with a single mom with 8 siblings. I was the 3 rd oldest. We lost our father due to kidney failure. I just turned 7. My mother was so creative in feeding us every day on a limited budget. But we had days when we did not eat. I was an adult before I even knew what broccoli or a Brussel Sprout was because we could only afford carrots and potatoes and lots of pasta. We also only had 3 bedrooms in our home. We valued a hearty oatmeal breakfast and a hot vegetable soup for supper with homemade biscuits. Soda pop or take out food not to mention ever eating out at a restaurant as a family never happened growing up. I made a comment a few weeks ago wanting to see your family enjoy one of your breakfast meals…if it was my family during my youth we would have been so very grateful. I guess that was what I was looking for in your family. Hugs.

Try blt salad!! Bowtie pasta, mayo, bacon, romaine and tomatoes. Dice veggies. Cook pasta. Drain pasta and run cold water over to cool just a bit and put in bowl. Add veggies and mayo, mix, and refrigerate it! ( I like some onion in mine) some like a lil miracle whip mixed in as well for some tang.

Wow. I wish I could feed my family like that. 🥺 I wonder how much the bill was I know Costco and Sam's club can get expensive. I only have 4 kids well 3 are adults and 1 is 16. I always wanted more but so thankful for what the Lord sent us! 🥰🥰🥰🥰

We do the Welches sparkling great juice. It's in a bottle that looks like wine and we are not drinkers. But we put him in wine glasses and it makes you feel fancy

Alicia Thankyou for all the video’s that you do for us. You have a wonderful family and a great loads of fun going on there. I’m not sure if you have seen it or not but there is a can dispenser shelf that you just slide your soups or tomatoes or tomato paste, store diced tomatoes, whatever and it rotates it automatically. I’m not sure if you have seen those, but her yet maybe I should text the company and ask him if there’s something that they could send to you once again thank you for your family of sharing it with us
