We found this new Tonkotsu ramen at Costco. It looked really good on the label and we knew we had to try it out for ourself. Nongshim is known to make popular instant noodles like Chapagetti and Neoguri used to make the popular Ram-don (Jjapaguri) from the movie Parasite. See if it is worth it!
Directly from Costco "Costco worked to develop this item with Nongshim. $9.99+tax for 6 bowls! It is currently only available in 25 Northern California Costco locations, but will be coming to other N.American Costco locations by mid summer. This item was originally designed as a spicy version, but we separated the spice component so that members who do not like spice can tailor the level of heat or leave it out completely. This bowl IS microwaveable and the assorted veggies and fish spiral should be under the noodle cake. Since the product is made in the USA we are working to be able to have a piece of pork included in a future version. Some instant noodle bowls in Japan actually include a dehydrated meat slice, but due to US import laws, we are unable to bring those items in country because of that piece of meat."

I am Canadian and saw this at my local Costco (14$ CAD for 6). I was on the fence and didn't end up buying a pack. I figured I would ask in a local Facebook group if anyone tried it... but then I found this video, thanks for producing it! Sadly, due to the pandemic, a bunch of restaurants are closed in my area, including my favorite Ramen joint. However, thanks to your review, I will give this product a shot! I think I'll experiment and add corn, thinly sliced leek, thinly sliced pork and a soft boiled egg for good measure!

If you're into anime just get your favorite wiafu as a ramen/noodle topper, they sit on the open part to hold the lid down. Yes they're actually made specifically for it, and I think there are other options as well, like a little bear or something. Also we have had that ramen here(midwest) as well, it's been kind of spotty though, they get it in stock for a little bit then it's gone for a while.

The noodles themselves are absolutely horrible...very spongy and have NO flavor whatsoever! I believe the noodles suffered from not being fried maybe...I just can't get passed the styrofoam texture either. The soup base is mild and I did like the real shaved garlic and the spicy sauce which is surprisingly mild for looking and saying spicy on the packaging. This is a Ramen I really had to doctor up...very disappointed that the noodles didn't stand up to the other Nongshim Ramens because that's supposed to be the star of the show!☹ I bought this from Costco and will pass by it the next time I'm in the store...would not recommend!👎👎👎

The value is the price. I am a bit skeptical of Nongshim bulk products from Costco. They tend to be the most mundane. I end throwing flaxseed, dill, paprika, deli meat, eggs, beans, rosemary, peas, cabbage, hempseed, etc. Just to try to make it more enticing.

It was ok. It isn’t actually tonkotsu ramen as it is made of fish. Contains: Soy, Wheat, Milk, Anchovy, Tuna Cause it is primarily made of fish it has a fishy flavor not pork. Noodles were chewy at first then after a while it became soft and not springy. They are comparable to the cheap top ramen brick. (Not cup) No pork toppings cause of u.s. import laws. It’s ok. Not worth 1.33/per bowl. Get the A-sha tainan style noodles instead. 5/10

@Zack_Zander 9 ай бұрын
Well for one, you can simply not use the full packet. Secondly, don’t drink the broth, since that’s there most of the sodium is in. Other than that, this is typical for Ramen. Heck, some traditional ones can go over 2000mg, so 1550mg is pretty light.

You really should not put that lid in the microwave, who knows what chemicals seeped into your ramen... lid on is only suppose to stay on with the hot water. Overall good video but I recommend you all try putting the base last to get a stronger tasting broth and removing the lid in order for the times to texture reflected on the packaging to hold true... nothing worst than overcooked ramen.
