OMG. I just bought this yesterday and was so excited to use it. I emptied the box (so I thought), and spent a good deal of this afternoon fussing because the lid wouldn't close when I tried to test the shredder. I'm embarrassed - I put the shredder blade ON TOP of the cutting blade instead of removing it, LOL. I was gonna return it, but searched good ole YT first. THANK YOU!!!

Thank you, i lost the booklet, so couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong with attaching the slicer/shredder component. Looks like I'm doing it right so gonna try again!

FYI - I stored everything inside the base. I put the extra piece for the shredder first, then the shredder, and then blade on top. It closed perfectly. I agree, it shouldn't be left out.

I can’t believe I found this video. I purchased this and was very excited, but couldn’t figure out how to use the slicer and when he opened this part of it there was that little stick that I didn’t have that was still in the box in the garage thank you for sharing this video.

Since you already have the older model, did you end up keeping this, too? Which one do you like better? Thinking about possibly gifting one for the holidays. I have the 5 speed Vitamix immersion blender from a different retailer. Love it because it doesn't have attachments included (don't need them), and the motor is powerful at 625 watts. Potential cons are the price and weight - not cheap, and heavier. I personally appreciate the sturdy feel, though.

I returned the older one, since the only real difference was the food processor attachment. The speed control is also nicer on this I feel.

at 1600 on the video, where you unveiled the slicing blade, you nearly tossed the little stick! I actually did toss it, I wish the packaging was different. Such a bummer that I missed it and cannot use that blade now!

You live really close to me! I live on the San Jose side, though. I have been wracking my brains on how to get the shredder piece in there. I have a full sized cuisinart processor and I don't want to have bust out with it just to shred a small block of cheese. Maybe a follow up video? or a tutorial?

I showed how to put the shredder piece in. You didn't see it? The plastic thing goes first then the disk goes on top. Depending if you want slice or shred you flip the disc.
