Love the video. One of our traditions since the 70's has been a special dip. All our family gatherings include who's going to make it this year. ( lol) Here's the recipe." Two cups of Best Foods (Hellman's) mayonnaise Two cups of Sour creme Two table spoons of Dill weed Two table spoons of parsley flakes Two table spoons of Beau Monde ( a french meat tenderizer) Blend well and let sit in the fridge overnight if you can. It goes great with veggies, as well as chips.

For a friendsgiving I bought rotisserie chickens and stuffed them with poultry herbs and lemon to make them look pretty. Squeezed a little lemon juice on top. It was perfect

Thank you, Gina. My mother was Japanese and she always made turkey with all the trimmings for the holidays, along with a huge platter of sushi. Oh, how I miss those days!

That Master Carve ham is worth buying even if you only use it for deli-type sandwiches. At $2.99/lb. it's far less expensive than deli meats, and it's not overly salty. I wish they had it all year.

Just wanted to let you know I tried the Vicky's Kitchen Roast Turkey Breast with Sausage Cornbread Stuffing and Cranberry Apple Chutney Glaze. It was actually really good! Very easy to prepare and really enjoyable flavor. I would definitely purchase this again.

We were just at Costco today. Got a turkey breast that was $15 and a pumpkin pie for $5.99! We're not doing a huge dinner this year but we should have grabbed a second pie and we'll have to go back for one more eventually.

My family’s tradition was to make “Italian Stuffing” which has sausage, pepperoni, provolone, and capicola in it. It’s the one thing all of the cousins on that side of the family know how to make.

We always have at least two cans of black olives on hand cause there is at least four or more people that only like the black ones. We sometimes have turkey and ham . Sometimes we have vegetables and fruit trays and always have meat and cheese trays. We have baked potatoes instead of mashed . Then we play cards or board games the rest of the day.

Poultry brine shortcut: 272 grams (about 9.7 oz) of salt per gallon of water. You can add other spices or sugar or even buttermilk powder for brining fried chicken, but we usually just use the salt. The buttermilk will tenderize the meat so it's good for birds that might otherwise be tough like wild turkey and some of the heritage birds. But it isn't required. We recently saw a bag of brine mix to only make 1 gallon (enough for just one small turkey) going for $30! That's crazy and for some it costs as much as the turkey! Most of those mixes are just the 9.7 oz of salt plus a couple tablespoons of seasoning. Save your money and make it at home. Season with whatever flavor profile you want. Reason for measuring by weight is that when you use a recipe that measures by the cup you have to use the same kind of salt as the person who made the recipe and quite often they don't tell you which one, so it's easy to get it wrong and end up with too much or not enough salt. When you measure by weight you don't have to worry about what kind of salt or how coarse or fine it is. Make sure you rinse the bird off thoroughly after brining and pat it dry before you cook it. If you don't rinse it'll taste too salty to eat.

Thank you for this review of products for Thanksgiving. We used to have turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, sweet potato casserole, green beans, and pumpkin pie, all homemade. I truly appreciate these tips, as there are only 2 of us now, cooking is a huge hassle (but gotta eat, right?), and inflation has severely impacted our budget. TY so much & I'm subscribing now! 😊

I love the Rhodes rolls. They are wonderful rolls. I make my own now. But those rolls and their cinnamon rolls are my go to when I absolutely don't have the time or patience to make them. We always do Turkey for Thanksgiving. We used to get a small smoked turkey from a local BBQ place and thought I hit the jackpot on easiest Thanksgivingthey no longer offer a smaller version, and it's too much turkey for just the two of us. So I just do a turkey breast in the slow cooker with the lipton onion soup/whole berry cranberry sauce and o.j. We just do the very basic- dinner rolls, mashed potatoes( I do 1/2 red, 1/2 golden potatoes), peas, deviled eggs, cranberry sauce and I try to throw in a fancy green bean or asparagus dish- more veggies. I've downsized our dessert to Instant pot pumpkin cheese cake in ball jars. Perfect multiple servings for two people. If you haven't done a cheese cake in a pressure cooker- whoooa yeah... But for Christmas- I just started getting the Kirkland Mastercarve Ham. Takes the guesswork out of the main event. lol Plus I love those hams. My favorite tradition I grew up with and still do for Thanksgiving and Christmas is big home made cinnamon rolls for breakfast, it's an old one that uses mashed potatoes in the recipe.

I am cooking two Thanksgiving dinners this year (my mom has breast cancer and can't travel) and the first was today! I bought nearly everything from Costco! The charcuterie board was amazing and kicked the morning off. Just be aware that it doesn't come with grapes. Luckily, we made a fruit tray, so we were covered. The loaded mashed potatoes were a huge hit! The fresh turkey had a lot of ice, so it took 30 minutes of running cool water on it to thaw for me to remove the neck and giblets. It was 17 lb and came out great at 325 for 3 hours. A neighbor made my mom a pumpkin pie, so I bought the pecan pie, which was fantastic. We picked up some blankets as well for after dinner naps. The one thing I couldn't find was cranberry sauce. Is that at Costco?

I'm still upset they don't do the costco homemade granola anymore. I don't do turkey for Thanksgiving anymore. It's so expensive. I like the dark meat only. So I get BBQ and alot of them smoked turkey legs. Turkey breast is bland and to dry for me. Ham I get and split it in half. Freeze one half, cook the other for Christmas. The apple pie, I cut into 4 halfs. Freeze the halfs and eat one half. A quarter is the size of a small pie. The Kevin's brand in general is really bland. I've tried several items and it has no taste.
