Heres the lyrics from the Author himself, much respect to everyone pumping the music, one love y'all A Page Of History Lyrics By James Costello In a trance reading ‘Bobby Sands - Rhythm Of time’, Feel the spirit of freedom caged in a prisoners mind, Our people are victims to man’s sinister crimes, Can’t read between the lines to see the lies the system devised, Let me grace your essence with some wisdom of mine, We study all the time to ensure that the literatures wise, Over the past millennium there’s plenty to learn but; To put it brief Europe carved the whole World up, Notice that your school curriculum’s teaching bullsh**, Mankind was induced with greed and the problems resulted In laying way for the injustice of the 1600’s, For the great shame I place blame between the culprits, Can it be these horrific deeds were merely forgiven, Cuz the age of imperialism was clearly beginning, One of the central powers was the island of Britain, Held by a monarchy who ruled with a violent tradition, Throughout our history there’s horrors that the tyrants inflicted, But the books will never detail Ireland’s description, See things from the angle I’m exploring, Here since the 1169 invasion of the Anglo-Normans, We bore witness to the declaration of their evil, Seen through the cruelty and degradation of our people, Suffered all the way through to the Age of the Tudors, Our homeland enslaved to the claim of the rulers, Seems like every uprising was destined to fail, The Irish forces were crushed at the Battle of Kinsale, 1603; Hugh O’ Neill signed the Treaty of Melifont, Brought an end to the Nine Year War that the rebels launched, These events laid down the plan that the devil wants, Now the British had some new lands to settle on, Our remaining leaders in exile; The Flight of The Earls, A tragic time that brought a new plight to our world, Under the rule of King James & Charles the 1st, Life here quickly changed from Hard to worse, Look at what our people lost with the Penal Laws, Victims to a greed that was never seen before, Cruel deeds used to decimate our nation and culture, It was widespread with the Plantation of Ulster, Still the stronghold for some of the Gaelic Chieftains, Appalled at how our Motherland was raped and beaten, All the constant skirmishes had hate increasing, For the shameful reasons of these racist demons, Pope in Rome wasn’t nothing but a prominent Emperor, Catholics fell to the mercy of a dominant predator, And so began the wars with the Protestant settler’s, State the origin of the conflict so the consciousness registers, 1641; The Irish led a rebellion, In Britain around the same time the era was Cromwellian, A man deemed as the executioner of God himself, Brought and end to the Monarchy and start of the Commonwealth, A dictator who converted to becoming a Puritan, Hate for Ireland in his heart and a lust for murdering, We can hear the pain and the sorrow that the songs tell, Persecution suffered at the hands of Cromwell, Hatred brought to us, both the weak and strong fell, Basically it was a genocide in a bombshell, Sent us on to Hell or the road to Connacht, Or brought to the New World to be sold as products, Cursed with the faith that they bestowed upon us, Protestants settled in Ulster and stole the Province, Fuck a social comment I’ll keep the vocals honest, They with-hold the knowledge from us, God’s broken promise, Was a terrible campaign of ethnic cleansing, Cuz so many lives came to a desperate ending, Young girls from the ages of 10 to 14, Were sent to be their sex slaves in the Caribbean, We made up ¾’s the population of Monserrat, This type of sh** settling in me mind made me want to rap, Took us from our land and never brought us back, Britain’s next door neighbor is no stranger to their haunted acts, Seen as the dirty peasants of the Catholic Empire, Tragedy’s from the land Saint Patrick Inspired, Half the population massacred by Hells fire, On the open slave markets Africans sell higher, Slaves to this New World, just look how far they crossed, For hard days labour in the sun of Barbados, Planters called us red legs, lucky to even get fed, Slave or indentured servant, we were working to our death beds, History of Africa's the one we more relate ta, We were all brought as livestock to the island of Jamaica, The Atlantic was controlled by the English, Spanish and Portuguese, Vessels with live cargo been trafficked through the Ports and Seas, Feel the anguish we’ve been plagued with misery, The song I sing for Ireland is a painful symphony, For the hearts that stayed courageous while embracing victory, And stood in the face of this blatant bigotry, Blessed with the poetical mind this nation’s given me, I’ll take a page of history and paint it vividly.

@@eireannachaontaithe4265 I think this is possibly the greatest accolade to Costello's art, if he were to achieve nothing else in his career but to inspire a mind to go on to inspire others! Brilliant! "I'm not saying I'm gonna rule the world or I'm gonna change the world, but I guarantee you that I will spark the brain that will change the world. And that's our job, It's to spark somebody else watching us" - Tupac Shakur

This world needs more of this very stuff here! The US school system doesn't teach the truth about Ireland! At least my class! It wasn't till about four years ago when I ended up learning about my mother's side which just happens to be Ulster! Sad story for sure! So much corruption and death! If you can keep adding Irish History to your lyrics, it's going to be perfect! Nobody will be able to touch it! Peace!

I've been surfing around rap lately as I do with all music types. You hit a bulls eye in that ever so Irish musical way. Your sons and daughter went out to the world and for many of us, the circumstances that created this still evoke sadness and haunt our memory from Mother. From an American of Irish descent on both sides. What a bitch our people endured. However, I WON'T ALLOW MYSELF TO HATE. Who knows how long any of us have. But we have what is long been done.

I can't really put how this makes me feel! Yeah, born in "America", but the more I learn about my mother's Irish lineage the more more I understand what my people went through through Irish History website's! What a freaken shame! Absolutely right in your lyrics! My mother's side is Ulster Scott from Armagh, Ireland! The Conley Clan Of Eastern Kentucky, traces all the way back to that very place! The British couldn't stand the Irish, and seemed like the Ulster's were hated by everybody although the Irish and Ulster's were basically the same! Even the Irish didn't want anything to do with the Ulster's! From the Ulster's moving from Scotland to Southern Ireland to being forced to move to Northern Ireland! Potato famine that nearly killed the Irish people regardless of Ulster's and Irish! Many many years of wars and killings and poverty and slavery between the Ulster's and Irish that nobody wants to talk about! The Much more than these things that I just mentioned! The more I learn about my Ulster/Irish heritage, the more I have a heart for my people! Just keep telling it the way it is and use the History so that nobody forgets! That's as real as it gets! You can't get more real than real History! I've been in the process of changing my first name to O` Brennelly, Allen is already my middle name, and Costello my last! Maybe just Brannelly! My wife's last name is the only thing that will be changed! Clark is adopted! Long story! Love it keep going with it! Keep it Original, keep it Irish!
