I wouldn't have thought that someone would choose to apply to study programs at random. But then I started thinking about what I actually did in my youth in a similar, though not in the same, situation. I did apply to several study programs even though there didn't exist a joint application for them in those times. I have to admit that one of them wasn't a very serious choice. In that sense it was a random choice, just in case I wouldn't become selected in any other admission. I wasn't experienced and didn't know how well I would do in entry selection processes. If I had been more knowledgeable, I would have done a lot more research about different educational institutions and study programs . I didn't know enough to understand what information I was missing. I was poorly informed, I would say. And that made my application choices random to some extent.

@Angwegolder It's difficult to be curious enough about things that you don't know about to research them. I surely didn't know about many fields of study or academic life when I was applying. I didn't know enough even to know where to start research or to understand that research would have been valuable. There was no www in those days. Finding information was a much more demanding process than now. Families with academic traditions had an advantage in the form of having experience of higher education and being able to inform their children. I didn't have that.

Finland Abroad is a website provided by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland and Finland's missions abroad. It has a search field where you write the country, in this case Cameroon, and it will give the information. "Are you planning to travel to Finland? To find the contact details of Finland’s embassies and other missions abroad as well as other useful information, write down the name of the country, region, city or organisation in the search field." Finland does not have a mission in Cameroon The Embassy of Finland in Abuja also provides services in Cameroon.

Higher education study programs mostly do not fit well with students, who don't like reading. Perhaps with the exception of dyslexic people, who use aids and alternative study methods to overcome disability.

I can’t really tell which universe or university of Applied science has a high rate of acceptance because that depends on what the set as their cutoff mark after the exams. You can choose any degree of your choice.

Universities have several fields of study with many study programs. Entry admissions are to study programs and not in some way more general to a university. Different programs have different popularity, demand, among applicants and there are also different numbers of study places in different programs. All this means that there isn't any simple meaningful "rate of acceptance" to a university. In the special case of these English taught study programs, which are a minority, one can expect that since bigger universities are more widely known foreigners are more likely to be interested in study programs in these universities making competition of study places tighter. However compared to some Finnish taught study programs they are not likely to be especially difficult to get admitted. I haven't checked numbers lately, but some years ago when I checked that was the situation.

One cannot get accepted to two higher education study programs in an academic year. Other than that there are no limitations studying and getting several degrees. But of course you need to become admitted to these study programs. It's actually fairly common, but more likely to include master's or doctor's degrees than just bachelor's. One popular combination has been technology and economy.

Master's degree study programs in different fields have significantly different section methods. Also the eligibility criteria and selections are different in Universities and Universities of Applied Sciences. There is no exam, which we could call "the exam" and is used in master's degree admissions by all educational institutions and in all fields.
