Im sure I will do more videos on this topic- but these are my go to techniques for costume distressing. Light colors for dark fabrics and medium colors for light fabrics.

Mr. hopps I started watching your amazing videos last year. I actually made a doll of sorts out of a plastic bottle and some old clothes and a 99` cent store goblin head ..thanks to you. this year I have no spirit to celebrate but seeing you around again brings a smile to my face. thanks Allen

hopefully the spirit will come back to you, thanks for watching!

I've always had great results with rubbing the fabric between two coarse rocks and/or bricks. Can do a rock/brick against a concrete patio or such for larger areas as well. Gives lots of great control, and a naturally worn look as well. I have distressed two pirate flags this way to amazing effect. They always stand out when we go to the beach as a family for the day...

Hi, I never normally comment on videos. I just wanted to say thank you for all your content (and also thank you to all the channels that I’m not commenting on today as I watch many channels but can’t remember them all). I mostly watch KZbin on my Fire Stick, but Google have seen fit to stop that from January 1st 2018. I imagine many other people are in my position and will not be able to watch KZbin properly next year. So if you notice a decline in your views, please don’t feel disheartened. We still love your content and hopefully in the future I will be able to afford another device or Google will revoke their shocking decision. Until then, please don’t stop making great videos. Thank you x

Hey Allen your videos are amazing and are great help. Talking about safety in my line of work safety is #1 and at home I always try to practice safety. Long story short in the middle of fixing one of my props caught the grinder to my knee. Well 1hr later and 6 stitches to the knee I was home to make sure I fixed it. Lesson you can never be safe enough always got to work safely

I'm trying to distress formal, beaded/sequined costumes for a zombie stage performance package. Most are bright or strong colors..heavier material. The effects have to show up but still have the integrity of the costume.. any suggestions?

Hello Allen you have great videos. I watched lots of videos about making mold but you have most useful advice. I am traying to make substance simular liqued rubber for making molds. I am intrested for your recipe where main substance are Pva glue and glycerin. On your opinion is that mix useful for making mold. Could you share recipe for that mixture?

Hello, my name is willow. I am working on making a costume of the Janitor from the new game Little Nightmares. I was wondering if you have any recommendations on how to form the costume and effects

I just researched him a bit, very interesting looking character. I would make his clothing out of thin foam- so it is stiffer than regular fabric and you can heat form the wrinkles in exactly where you want them. here is what I would use- www.amazon.com/dp/B00CJBLR2I/ref=asc_df_B00CJBLR2I5209790/?tag=hyprod-20&creative=394997&creativeASIN=B00CJBLR2I&linkCode=df0&hvadid=167152358566&hvpos=1o4&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17162515551541080409&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9026834&hvtargid=pla-279077981012

StiltbeastStudios what if I had an idea to make a latex mask of his head, a one head mask so the skin over his eyes could be pulled up and his arms slightly stretch out, the character is blind
@daily-janitor7 жыл бұрын
StiltbeastStudios I would like it to be a full body wearable costume I have the same jacket I would just need the few accessories and working the skin parts
@StiltbeastStudios7 жыл бұрын
you have a jacket with Arms that long? what are you doing with the proportions? His proportions are very different from a normal human.
@daily-janitor7 жыл бұрын
StiltbeastStudios he wears a frenchcoat mine needs extended fabric of green but I am a 5 foot person and he wears beige tights and blue shoes and a brown fedora and i was going to form the mask with the skin overlap separate so I can pull it up, I have the materials to make a mother mold.

I would have really enjoyed this video, but the music ruined it for me- I’m glad that music isn’t in a lot of the videos because they are so informative. Cuffs, button holes, elbows , collar, pockets wear down the quickest -- excellent job on the clothing -

this is a 4 year old video- I think I pick better music now. glad you kinda liked the video.

I think the funniest distressing technique I've ever seen for clothes was to bury them in a compost heap for a month. Only really works for natural materials though.
