Tim I’m with you on how you look at equipment and pickups. You take care of them, they take care of you and they all kind of have personalities. Some are good to see go but most times it’s an odd thing to see an old piece of steal go to someone else. I wish tigercat made dirt moving equipment

Tim I am with you on how I look at machines and equipment. I turned in my 2008 Toyota pickup it had 300,000 miles on it. I washed and waxed it every week. Every Sunday I drove it 850 miles, when I pulled out of my drive way I knew it would get me back home in all kinds of conditions and weather. One night i hit a Feral Hog doing 75 MPH. The Good Lord and Toyota saved my life that night. I drove it another 600 miles after hitting the hog. I convinced the insurance company to repair it instead of totaling it out because it was my good luck charm. The company I worked for was gona give me a new truck but I did not want a new one. I drove on thousands of miles of ice and snow and one complete white out one night . Sometimes that is what it takes to get the job done and feed the babies.

It’s a Double stack Mack with a L830 on the back. I’m sentimental about stuff like that myself. Like you said it’s a tool that you can take and make your life better with. Great video with a great talk at the end. Good stuff

We didn’t get a break from the heat until today, it was hot yesterday after Micheal graced us with his presence. Hard to see a machine like that go, you know what you had and there’s security in that.

😍😍😍GOOD MORNING COTONTOP3 !!! 🤩 ESPECIALLY LIKED the temperature on that machine @ 77, at start-up🌡 Send some of that heat North to Minnesnowta.🌨Will trade some of this 30 degree for that heat. Yes, I know the FEELING of an OLD extension (MACHINE) of the mind AND body that has served well. IF you figure, 10/hour day, that machine has worked for you 4 of the 6 years you owned it !!!!! [ 9600 hours \ 10 hours working day \ 20 days a month \ 12 months a year ] figures you spent a GOOD AMOUNT OF DAILY LIFE WITH YOUR MIND IN THAT MACHINE !!!😉 (MORE THAN JUST A MACHINE) on that lowboy headed down the road.........😥 AWESOME VIDEO with a touch of SOUTHERN LIFE !!!

Interesting, in Canada the only person covered by insurance to load the equipment is the driver. Made me really good at loading equipment but never made much sense when the operator runs it everyday!

First- Really great video. Watching that loading made me nervous. Not much room. Tools are built by people to sustain and enhance life. Second-You run into your fair share of interesting characters out in the woods. Third- I was watching some aerial footage of Florida's destruction after Michael hit land and one shot had a considerable acreage of trees knocked over by the thousands. Does all that funnel it's way into the lumber business? Does it change market dynamics and how does all that work? I can't imagine facing that all that clean up.

Tim, i got a question: What does the lever next to the fire extinguisher in the cab of the old L830 do? I'm not talking bout the joystick, i'm talking bout the single lever between the joystick and the fire extinguisher.

Watching that thing go down the road must have been similar to how Travis K. would be feeling if/when his 7600 eventually gets traded off for something else. I spend almost no time around large equipment like yours, including the trucks. Is an automatic transmission very commonly offered in heavy haul rigs?

Great Video Tim . I Always called those Binders "HEAD BUSTERS " Cause I like you & many other I'm sure . more than once . Have seen em fly back up & almost bust someone in the head if not careful. I Hate those types & always preferred Ratchet binders . I Myself Have never had any experience with the M Drive Mack Transmissions . But I Hear they're pretty good. The CH (Pinnacle )Bulldog seemed to handle it pretty well. I've always been around the 2 stick Duplex, Triplex & Quadraplex (aka Ouadbox) & Air Shift Mack Manual transmissions . I Gotta say out the manual Mack transmissions I Preferred the 12 Speed Air shift & 2 stick 6 speed lo hole both with 5 reverse gears. (They sure came in handy in soft ground ) Although With my mild case of cerebral palsy on my left side getting worse The State would like to see me in an automatic full time. Although it would be easier on me . I just don't want the restriction on my license . When I Know I can still drive a Manual transmission. & I Don't want to be restricted to one type of transmission. I Have the same views on Equipment & Trucks also . Even my Pick ups . Mack

I run a ch pinnacle mack with an 18 speed I think only a 420 horse engine and I pull 80k-100k excavators with it and the Mack's are reliable but they cant pull the heavy weight like are Pete does

I pull over 200,000lbs with a Mack like that but 4ax and sleeper. I pull off in the mud with it to sites every trip. Also have 3ax with sleeper. I won't buy anything else.

I pull RGN over the road he used 3/8 chains and binders which are rated for 5400 pounds at 70 grade 5400x6 32400 if he had 1/2 inch at 70 grade theyre rated 11600 pounds wll he would've worked less 11600x4 46400 WLL so he would've done less work and still secured that cutter better than running 6 3/8 chains....sorry not trying to bust somebodys balls with stuff like that but if I can give advice when I can to make somebodys job easier I will but good video overall

A track cutter is 2 to 1 better than a wheel cutter! I guarantee you will cut more wood and go home not 1/2 as tired! 30,000 hours in one. Forget a wheel cutter! Started on a 1991 608 dinosaur.

Good morning. I'm a 20 yr Over the Road trucker. My favorite piece of equipment was a 2001 379 Peterbilt 18spd 3.55 rears. Awesome truck. Ran like a raped ape. Ex coworker wrecked the truck too proud to take a nap. Watched that truck get crushed
