Always enjoy seeing someone use the chain brake as much as I do. I engage mine every time I move or stop cutting for a few seconds. I can’t count the number of times I’ve seen someone stumble and peg the saw wide open when they nearly fall on it. People tell me I’m going to wear the brake out but I’d rather replace it then go to the hospital!

I'm a amateur when it comes to felling tree's for firewood but I've always engaged the brake before quickly getting away from that tree that's falling, I've always thought what's easier to replace a brake or a saw or your leg

Minnesota outdoors that is for sure. Just like putting your seatbelt on when you get in your car. Only takes a second and could prevent a lot of regret

Tim that was a very smart move on buying the Kubota KX057-4, it will last you a lifetime, can't wait to see more of it in action.

Me and my father dropped a hollow tree on our property one time, he started bucking the log, and about the third cut, the skunk smell hit us. Shut the saw off, and called it a day. Came back a few months later to finish it, and it still smelled of skunk . Don't think we actually hit him with the saw, but he sure tainted that tree trunk for any firewood purposes!

Tim, you will most likely be digging withe 3’ bucket so the foot won’t be used as much but your 2’ bucket is useful clearing with the foot so you have the best of both worlds there, it would be nice for you if you could fab yourself a little carry box you can mount somewhere on the machine (if there is any room at all) to carry your chain saws and bits and pieces instead of under your legs, you are really going to enjoy that mini when you learn its capability’s thanks Tim for your vids

Having had logs slip out of the bucket/thumb of my excavator, it's a safer bet to cut from the backside of the bucket where the log cant roll out. Like the kx-057!

What Husqvarna saw is one step up from this 550XP? I don’t think the 20” bar will be long enough for my trees that I have.
