does a camera with lens fit in the front compartment?

It depends on the kind of camera you’re taking about. The only I’ve put in the front are two GoPros, a small tripod, and some accessories. A point and shoot would fit perfectly. Anything else would be questionable. I hope this helps.

I wouldn’t say completely. It does a great job most of the time keeping your stuff dry if you get caught in the rain or something. Not a monsoon though. Lol.
