Thanks Mr Terry this was a game changer for me the Ink Bird ITC-1000 and the setting update you provided made a big difference thanks

I just finished building and wiring my incubator. Thank you for designing it and taking the time to explain the wiring. I will be using the incubator for culturing yogurts.

Cool, first I've heard of using it for culturing yogurts ... let us know how it does.

@CoturnixCorner I did make one big change. I am running 1 120 mm fan instead of the 2 80 mm fans. It has been running for several hours with 2 1 gallon jars of water. The jars have been maintaining 108 degrees for about 6 hours.

@@CoturnixCorner Just a quick update on the incubator for fermenting yogurt. I have now ran the incubator for 3 different cultures. One was at 100 degrees and the other 2 were ran at 109. It held temp perfectly. I used 1-72 watt Halogen bulb as I have found that I get crazy temp spikes with 2 bulbs. (106-112) With the single bulb the temp fluctuates from 108.5 to 109.5. Thank you again. This is the first but not the last one that I will be building. Up next the smaller version.

Great info thanks for the video. I'm planning on purchasing the things and building my own. I'm running 3 incubators I purchased with a total chicken egg capacity of 180 eggs.

Each incubator has features I like and dislike about them. From having to remove the top to add water. How and what do you use for a water pan and how do you figure out how much water to start with

Terry, On Sundays show...would you please address what type of heat source we can use on the mini/full Terrybators-incandesent bulbs are no more? Do we use reptile, ceramic or what to keep a constant heat source? What Wattage would you use for the Reptile/Ceramic heat lamps? Have you tried anything other that incandescent bulbs?
@CoturnixCorner8 ай бұрын
I recommend using 60 or 75 watt halogens. And yes, it seems they are getting harder to find locally, but they are available on Amazon. As far as the ceramic heating elements, a 75 watt ceramic bulb will work. I prefer the bulbs because I can see that the incubator is working . If the bulbs get harder to find I will be researching alternate heat sources for the DIY series of incubators.

I guess I need a wiring for idiots video. I was thinking about getting the incubator, but after this, not sure if I should, what hooks up to what. How does the inkbird turn the fans on and off? Do you do another one for the heat? how does the power plug in, etc etc
@CoturnixCorner8 ай бұрын
Bill, the fans run continuously and are powered by the 12 volt transformer, not connected to the Inkbird at all. The inkbird only controls the heating elements (lightbulbs). It's very easy to wire up and I'd be glad to personally help you wire up your's if you get one.

Question: noting using a separate power wire connected to Ink Bird and then connecting that to the positive wire on our power cord. Can we wire the positive directly to the Ink Bird?

@kevinallen80728 ай бұрын
Refrigerator bulbs 40 watt x 2
@CoturnixCorner8 ай бұрын
@@kevinallen8072 is the inkbird turning off the lights at 99* and then the temps continue to climb to 102? If so, double check that the fans are blowing across the bulbs and not into the forced air channel. If that is correct then try removing one bulb and see if that helps. I'm not familiar with the heat output of the refrigerator bulbs but at 40 watts you shouldn't have any overheating issues.
@kevinallen80728 ай бұрын
Ok my fan may not be enough for my heat of the 2 40 watt bulbs. Thank you for replying.

I use that same controller. I don't like how the characters in the manual don't match the display and that the default is 5 degree range and you have to change it to 1 degree.

I appreciate you making an effort to help people. however, the schematic on the top of your ink bird and the schematic for the 1000F specifically shows that terminal one is jumped to #6. I encourage you to correct your tutorial. If you want I can send you the correct schematic from ink bird. you are using the schematic for the inboard that has 12v dc to the fan. the diagram for the ink bird that is 120 to the fan is different
