Hey,
Here is a guide to how I fixed my cat damaged couch with embroidery.
If there is anything specific you would like to see more in-depth or if you have any questions just let me know :).
Some the common questions:
Q: How long did it take?
A: Roughly 10 hours for a beginner with no experience to complete one side.
Q: How much did it cost?
A: Roughly $17 dollars AUD
Q: Did you have any sewing experience before this?
A: Not at all

Saw the perpetrator watching you repair his work. Thank you for sharing your talent. I have two perpetrators too, they did the same thing to my couch. Gotta love 'em!

I am absolutely blown away by how gorgeous and creative this solution is to a common kitty couch conundrum. Also, thank you for showing us the entire process, step by step. It really is so helpful, especially to a embroidery beginner. Fabulous job! 😄👏

Came here from your Facebook post! Absolutely lovely job; reminds me of the couch version of Kintsugi (where they pour gold seams into broken ceramics). Definitely more beautiful now for having been a CATastrophe! 😂

This is so great! It reminds me of Japanese Kintsugi art where they repair cracked pottery with gold. The conspicuous repair to the damaged area ends up making the object more beautiful than it was before it was broken. 😃

Right? So many cats could have been saved from being de-clawed and re-homed had this been around decades ago. This is brilliant. Some one could turn this into a business.

Thank you for sharing your work, I'd love to try it with my own kitty destroyed couch! Have you had issues with your cat(s) destroying your newest handiwork?

Hey! I had a little bit of an issue at the beginning because they were still use to using the couch as a scratching spot. I then put double sided sticky tape around/on the area and haven't had a lot of damage since!

This is so cool! I'm thinking of upcycling a couch that's scratched up by a cat - do you think this would be possible to do if the fabric isn't ripped open at the seam? So just handling the needle from one side?
@stephanieLouise2914
@stephanieLouise2914 2 ай бұрын
I think you could try, but do the flowers and such you would need to have the under side (or so I believe?). There may be some other types of embrodiery or other flowers that you don't need to have that for? But I definitely thing you could still create something lovely. Or you could do what I did on the other side and cut open part of my couch for the flowers, but I know that's scary so whatever works best for you :).
