To prevent cough and cold in children the below are the medical tips in ayurveda : 1. Grind Thulasi leaves and squeeze the juice. Children below 2yrs - 1tbsp juice + honey, children above 2yrs - 2 tbsps juice+ honey once in a day. 2. Beetle leaf juice + honey (same proportion as told above) 3. Lemon+ honey in warm water daily in the morning 4. Take Karakkaya / harad and rub it on a stone with hot water and take the paste. Mix it with honey and consume in the above mentioned portions. 5. Sonti + miriyalu + pippili (dry ginger+ black pepper+ long pepper) should be powdered in equal proportions and consumed by mixing in honey when the child has cough and cold. This is readily available in the market as Trikata churna. Also we need to avoid foods that increases kapha dosha in kids. Like sweets, biscuits, chocolates and others. 👍
