2:26 - Note what he says, he said "We test it all on the back end" What that means is that the code for the fingerprint scanner works, but they haven't tested out the hardware (the actual technology). Which is a massive problem, the code could run no problem, but the actual application of that code through the physical technology could not work.

Yeah in 2014 when this originally aired, sure. Back then indeed fingerprint sensors were pretty poor, and good ones very expensive. no, because while the sharks may have private jets, they probably understand that a large chunk of their consumers face this issue. When investors are pitched an idea, they assume the position of a customer. They know most products aren't for them. Hence the "explain like i'm 5". Worst Shark Tank pitch was a couple who pitched an aphrodisiac bar. It was never tested or proven to even work. It tasted horrible, they had no sales. Best part is they were a husband and wife who both had 6 figure jobs they gave up to do this. They spent all they're savings and 401k on it leaving then with nothing. Sold their house, sold their cars. And on top of that.. the husband needed an operation in his brain and without it they might have a year for him to live. They were in absolute tears. Horrible and pathetic in every way.

Why would a charging dock for business phones need security though? Just put the dock in an area only employees can get to. Some hospitals have phones they give employees at the start of their shift. The charging stations aren't out in the open and they require a special sign on to even use. This product overcomplicates simple solutions

I don't know if you have this in US but here in Moscow a lot of businesses, subway stations etc have these machines with 10-40 power banks stuffed in them. You scan a code, pay for it, and take the power bank with you. I've never actually used one myself but plenty of people do, it is even half-expected of businesses to have it available. I'm not sure if you have to put it back in the same slot or any machine anywhere (which would be even better).
