It has become increasingly obvious that Scotland has been steadily diverging from the rest of Britain, both culturally and politically, over the last couple of decades. In Northern Ireland(NI), the unquestioned Unionist majority has nearly vanished, and politics is breaking out of the old, sterile, sectarian headcount. The UK has got, at most, a ten year life expectancy. Whether it be Scotland, or NI, which leaves first is basically irrelevant. Whichever does go first will cause the collapse of the UK... The reality is that the English nationalism which drove Brixit does not give a single, solitary, damn about any of the three Celtic nations which make up the rest of the UK...

What will Scotland become if they leave the UK, their main industry is oil, which will run out in about 50 years. Their economy is weak, they have a small population and they are heavily propped up by Westminster. Per person they receive significantly more funding than those living in England and I really doubt they will be able to afford the NHS and their free education system once they loose funding. Its a death sentence for Scotland and a total shame to see the UK loose some of its best people and most beautiful landscapes. As an Englishman who's always been proud of our union, I've always been dismayed at the thought of Scotland leaving the union. However, I'm now so happy for Scotland rejecting Boris Johnson's Brexit and his far right agenda. Like them, I don't want to be living in a country run by a far right Tory government. I'd even escape to an independent Scotland where their electorate actually have half a clue, and a desire to live in a progressive and liberal society. England is screwed.

In Scotland the Torys have not had a majority of the Scottish people vote for them for 60 years. Yet for 36 years of those 60 years the Torys have governed Scotland. In an independent Scotland the Scottish people would be governed by the government that they vote for and not be governed by the government that another country voted for.
