Purdy is really poised and he seems to be good. It's a great narrative that Mr. Irrelevant has gained such significance. But SF is successful because CMC is ballin out. Purdy is getting the typical QB appraisal but without CMC the 49ers wouldn't have blown out Tampa, LA or had their sensational win streak. The same goes for Jimmy. Could you see Purdy being successful if he were behind Carolina's or Chicago's O-Line or if he was in the Patriot's offense? 49ers are stacked, have been for years and this might be their year to win it all.

It goes back to him choosing ND state to play QB over big names programs that wanted him to play safety or some other position, to barely playing any college ball and still becoming a heavily hyped draft prospect in an incredible QB class that may or may not turn out to be as good as they say, then his turbulent NFL career up until this point and all the QB drama that has accompanied it. If he ends up succeeding it's an inspirational movie like the one they made about Kurt Warner. If he's a bust it's an interesting story about how ridiculous draft hype blows up and the sports news industry runs with things of little substance (like Trey Lance and Zach Wilson if they turn out to be busts), sort of in the spirit of The Big Short, or something like that.

That dolphins game was one of the most anticipated games of the year and everybody was saying how the bucs had way too much of a defense for him to repeat what he did in the dolphins games.
